i think there is probably no difference in raw sound itself beacuse it comes form the same integrated curtis chip. maybe Obies are a bit competitive due to its so called matrix modulation (more lfo combinations) but Cheetah is multitimbral, controlled from panel, can be modified for midi cc controlling etc. and its a bit cheaper for some reason (probably it's not trendy to have some unknown synth in today vintage-must have era;)
@michal23pl They were synths for the masses as cheetah called them. Made cheap with numerous problems like dodgy soldering. it was discontinued as beeing a rediculoius attempt to introduce synths to everybody in that era. Was it a total f*ck up? Nope. I've your lucky you'll find one that still works or needs some care. It will kick my Juno's to the moon soundwise. To me its a must have. There's a Windows editor on the net because midi programming is a pain with 2 knobs only.
What is that beautiful synth under the Cheetah with the funky knobs?

What are the differences in sound between the MS6 and the Oberheim Matrix 1000/6/6r? Does anyone know?

MS6 is much more flexible in terms of programming and it also has multi-timbral mode
