When he blocked a few punches that was self defense, had he thrown a few back that would even be justified, but he had the size and capacity to restrain the smaller kid. I suppose had he pulled out a gun and shot him, you'd be okay with that?

I told my teacher, and that basically solved everything.
My problem was that the person who was bullying me, didn't know she was.
I'm actually pretty good friends with her now.

I used to get bullied when I was in school I told my mother the shit came to a halt. My mother doesn't play about 2 things her money & her kids.
Parents of bullied kids need to go to school and act a fool. Have a conference with the principle and the bully's parents and make it clear that you won't stand for it and if it continues you'll be pressing charges with the school board and the parents.
Because most times teachers see it going on and don't give a damn if your kid is a punching bag.

The only issue is whether that breaking point in an emotional breakdown, or physical retribution. Until teachers do something, these are the only two options left to victims.

You can't tell me America is the only place in the world a kid would or could, shoot up a school. I'm concerned about the audience response. Laughing as the "bully" limps away? That made me feel sick. The school is hardly to blame. Teaching children tolerance and ways to negotiate through difficult situations begins in the home. I would say Casey's parents have done a pretty good job considering how long he held his temper.

I can't be the only one who's DISGUSTED that the audience cheered when Richard was dropped on his head -- on concrete -- and then LAUGHED when he couldn't stand. HE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. There's wrong on both parts here, I'm shocked that more people don't realize that. Casey had a right to defend himself, but what he did was extreme. To me, this demonstrates the need for some form of martial arts training. They both show a lack of the one thing martial arts teaches best: self-discipline.

There's not question you have to defend yourself if somebody wants to use your body as a punching bag. Running off and telling the teachers only works if the teachers are willing to do something about it. Frequently, its all just too hard or they don't know how to handle the situation. @namismokeninja Absolutely Casey should also have been suspended. What he did went FAR beyond simple self defense. When he blocked a few punches that was self defense, had he thrown a few back that would even be justified, but he had the size and capacity to restrain the smaller kid. Instead he picked the smaller boy up and not just dropped him on the ground, but with tremendous force threw him directly into the pavement. I suppose had he pulled out a gun and shot him, you'd be okay with that?

THREE YEARS of simply blocking punches. A QUARTER of his entire life. Don't tell me he should've just thrown a few punches. If you want it to stop, things have to be drastic. And if you were to blame, blame the school and the parents. They allowed this to continue for 3 years, and this is what happens.
