  • @hawaiigliderman Great video, can you recommend a place where I can learn to hang glide and rent a set of wings? I'm traveling there in 3 weeks. Thanks.

  • sick view

i feel bad for taking advantage of this every day....NOT

  • The best hang gliding spot near Honolulu is Makapu'u. It is on the southeast corner of the island of Oahu, about 15 miles from Honolulu. Most of the flying is done there along the cliffs between the lighthouse and Waimanalo beach.

  • Hey, I'm 14c years old and my parents and I are moving from canada to hawaii this summer! I was wondering if you knew of any hang gliding places near Honolulu? Thanks, and great video!

  • I don't think there is an official age requirement to hang glide. But there is an ability rating system from 1-4, from beginner to expert, which is signed off by a certified instructor. You need a certain rating to fly most spots. An average new glider costs about $3000.

  • Do you have to be a certain age to do this and whats the price?

  • Wow... absolutely beautiful landscape and flight. I better safe up some money and pack the glider ;-), guess you can fly all year around? Greetings, Philipp.

  • This is awesome video! A very beautiful flight! And the music is perfect for it! Aloha, Diane ;o)

  • @EarthsAngels

    Hi Diane,

This video and music gives you a little taste of the magic I feel in flight.

    Aloha, Mike

  • Nice footage ! looks like there is not much wind though on the ocean,no white caps or wind lines on the water ??

  • @markandjackif

Yes, it was a mellow day, trades only about 10 mph.

  • Beautiful Video!! Some amazing views up there...

  • Beautiful!

  • Thank you. Hawaii is a beautiful place from the air ---or ground.

  • Forgot your helmet strap dude! :-)

  • Yeah, I know. Still not used to flying with helmets, parachutes, instruments, long pants, shoes, designer accessories. --- Never needed them in the 70's.
