ok.. u find a metal that will resist a super hot laser beam.. put it on the end of a retractable antenna that slides out from the saber handle. 6 or 7 independent laser beams emit from the handle in a circle surrounding the inner antenna, and the beams get blocked by the special metal at the end of the antenna, which dictates the length of your saber. only reason it wont work is cause it would need a large power supply, and the metal would get too hot too fast assuming the lasers even did shit
