Brilliant song. I am a survivor, trapped in the horror that was Kinglake. So many communities suffered, so many died, places most have not hears of, some almost totally wiped out. Don't forget us, we are still suffering trauma, in fact some of us are only now emerging from the numbness that protected us. Thank you Australia for the massive outpouring of love and support. No wonder I love this country so much. Thinking also of the cyclone and flood affected, terrible time for them.
we need a day of reconition for our volenteers of our emgence services who are on call 24/7 and this would be the sony to get behind them, it is right when they say that
Costa Rica has the most beautiful butterflies in the world. They are transparent but are ringed with colour and iridescence. One morphed into a human and became Claire. With father Bruce and joined by the Carters, harmony fills the heart of every listener not unlike how the Seekers' harmony unseated the Beatles and Stones in '65. An amazing tribute which took me back to the last time on Australian soil at the Sydney Opening Ceremonies. Australia please, do not follow the American military.

I know a lot of NSW RFS volunteers who went down to help the Victorian CFS fight these fires..... I salute them as a friend and fellow community member!
I first came across The Seekers back in 1978 as a nine year old and I waited long enough until 1994 to find out who was their lead male singer. Superb
If this became our national song, Australia would immediately go from having one of the lamest national songs in the world to having one of the most awesome. What's not to love about this as a national anthem? Yes, it's cheesy but that's the nature of all anthems, at least it would be heart- warmingly, upliftingly and inclusively cheesy not war-glorifyingly and imperalist cheesy!
l understand why you would write that, but that day was sad for everyone across Australia, remembering the deaths of hundreds of citizens in the Victorian bushfires. We don't tend to fake joy at such occasions.
Remembering people of Toodyay Western Australia on the loss of your homes.
Very touching and very moving. Me Australian - no. Proud of my Australian brothers and sisters - definitely. Great great song and a beautiful tribute to help those devestated by the fires. Go Bruce and Claire.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - I bawled the whole way thru this - thank you so much Bruce - yes "We Are Australian".....may this country now come up from the ashes......we can do it.

I am not Austrailian, I am a Brit and proud to be. But every time I hear this song and the sentiment behind it, and then finding this version....
I'm not
But I wish
I was Austrailian

I love our anthem, our National Anthem.
I don't want it changed.
However, it would mean everything to so many Australians to have this song regarded as the "Australian Anthem of Hope" or even "The People's Anthem".
Officially.

It has always been a great song. Love to listen to Judith and the Seekers do this. But this was special. God Bless, Oz.

...and rightly so.

Gotta agree with those who think that this should be our national anthem. It is awesome.

Our National Anthem should be thought about being changed...this should be the song of our homeland Australia.
I live in NZ now....but i am and always will remain true to Australia!
May our beautiful country rise from the ashes even better than it was before.
