@maxstrains i used movie studio to import it as avchd and rendered it as .m2ts file. the software that came with the camera also can convert it to a wmv file.
@maxstrains@maxstrains Hey the Sony HXR-NX5U NXCAM uses AVCHD aswell. So if you download the K-Lite codec pack, you can view the files natively in media player. also if you must, editing in windows movie maker. But I recommend either Sony Vegas (Pro or Movie Studio), Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro HD (If on a mac). I hope this helps. And also if you want to view more footage from the XR200, and what the footage could look like, watch this: youtube(dot)com/watch?v=ORkUM18QS-8
hey relient... would you mind me asking what is your pc setup meaning specs/hardware (ie ram, cpu, etc) for editing? cuz i'm using a decent hp w/ 2 gb of ram w/ a 512mb vid card... not sure if that would work good enough.
I would recommend it, it has a lot of different options and effects for editing. I got it because my camera saves the files in that new AVCHD format and not many other programs support it
I have the same camcorder, and I need some help. What did you use to convert the video and what did you convert it to?

@entouchgraphics - I sold the camcorder a few days ago. Got tired of converting. Got a new Sony HandyCam 16x9 camcorder.
