Why does her age have ANYTHING to do with her riding a Harley? Are they only reserved for old people or something? I think it's awesome that she's out on a HARLEY, and doing it better than alot of guys I've seen! lol
#2 Helmets are nice, but they should be treated like guns. It's my choice if I want to own one or not, and not the governments. Ride on, Alex!
@boinicotti 17 years old would imply she is a NEW rider (also her mannerisms imply she's new to the game). Therefore she should start on a small bike (one with less torque, like a 250), so she can get the mechanics down first. As an aside, the chain needs tightening.
Very Nice! Im with humpycove on loving the sound of the decelleration. What kind of pipes are you running?? Ive been looking for a raappp sound like that for a while and cant figure out how to get it. Thanks and have fun riding!
Hey Alex, WOW-very nice. I love the sound on decel. Better check your drive belt--very loose when idling in the beginning of the video. I had a Cory Ness '06 Victory Jackpot that was totaled in Oct'09 due to a drunk pulling out in front of me. I'm good now. Be safe and again....Wow!!!!! Humpycove
Obviously lencharwil has some insecurity issues. That's okay, buddy...don't let those pretty ladies on their cool bikes scare ya. Just because they look better than you, and have nicer bikes than you, that's no reason to act like an ignorant ass.
if this afends any one im sorry but alex is hot riding a harley just the fact that she wants one then her mother showes her car and its a mustang she is my kind of girl
Why does everyone come on here, and take all the fun out of good videos by complaining about "riding gear"?!?!?! If she didn't want to wear a helmet, so what!!! Quit using these video's as a forum to impose your "public service announcment" upon the rest of us. Pro-choice people!
you've got a cute daughter with a nice bike. Pretty awesome that she can ride that.she definitely needed some leathers and a helmet for the video but I know she's got them.
"it's like vibrating... i don't know if it should"
hehe, it's a Harley... it's just the way they are... try a normal Jap bike they're more user friendly for novice riders, and please, do wear a HELMET and proper RIDING gear.
Yeah - she got a lot of flack for that. (And she never rides without it, FYI, except for this video.) It was the first time I had seen her motorcycle, and she just started it up and drove around the block for the video. But hey - her dad's the motorcycle rider! He should have thought of it! (as evidenced by my comment that I'd prefer she drive her Mustang. . .) She was just supposed to go to the end of the street and back -- but I guess the lure of the road is just too strong...;-)
Looks like she handles that bike real well ! I taught my son to ride about a yr ago (he's 21 now) and I wish I hadn't sold the second bike I had (an old kaw eleminator 900) anyway I built a chopper outta my (bought new in 05) Suzuki s-83 after I got it paid off .If you wanna see it search mikechambers1001 ......(3 vids) Mike
Really? Never had a bike that large with a belt. But, okay, since it can't be normal for it to bounce around that much, the belt needs adjustment. Or is that much movement normal with that bike?
it's too loose. Harleys haven't had a chain outside the primary for years. That belt is tough. It won't break (if properly adjusted), and it won't stretch like a chain.
Sorry, don't know much about Harleys. Only seen in person maybe twice or three times in my life. Not big sellers here in Europe. Other than a few Asian models, most larger bikes here tend to be shaft drive. Mid-size models are often chain drive and only smaller bikes, mostly scooters, use belts. Nothing wrong with belts though. Many larger scooters (100-125ccm) can exceed 80mph and the belts do hold up well. Well, take care.
Stewartx5, you are right, most Japanese large cruisers are shaft drive, but check out Suzuki S40(or Savage), Yamaha RoadStar series(including Warrior, Raider), they are all Japanese and belt drive. When Harley launched Evo engine it came with the belt drive, but before that(Shovelhead,pre-1982) it came with chain drive.
I did say "...other than a few Asian models..." when discussing shaft drive, bluebearbank247. However, I wasn't aware any Japanese bikes were belt driven. Of course, I haven't been keeping up that much in recent years since I haven't owned one in some 20 years. I rode BMW's for a good number of years, but recently switched to a maxi-scooter since age combined with a past injury (non-bike related) makes it difficult to continue riding something larger (hard to get leg over seat).
Ha! I wish! Nah - she lives with her dad and he's a (new) Harley nut....so he got her into it. Personally, I HATE the idea! But I have no leverage from here!
That's the way it goes I guess, my youngest still lives with his mom; I started talking about teaching him to ride and she about had a stroke. Killed that project from the get go.
Oh, I knew I wanted the wide-glide! Maybe next year.
