N900 - Contacts in Maemo 5

For some reason after I save the changes, the birthday date doesn't show up in the calendar and when I click on contact birthday it goes either back to the contact list. or to the present day on the calendar...What should I do?

Hey, i just got my Maemo yesterday..

and im really confused with the contacts..all the contacts are mixed up!.

do u knw how to assign ringtones for contacts?? or we cant ??:S

Yeah she is cute alright. And maemo 5 looks like a great OS. You could program your own contact list! This is what makes it even greater imo

from, for example, facebook, including image/avatar.

AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, MSN/Live, etc can be added from the extras software repository and then works exactly the same as if it was built-in, you just add it to contacts.

Not sure why they did not include them all by default, possibly legal issues or because the services like to change their protocols to try to block unofficial chat software. This way you get the very latest version available and do not fill the phone with options you do not use.

why isnt the time implemented in the standby screen? its very annoying to unlock the phone to see what time it is..

and why wasnt caller-announcment and voice dialling implemented?

Take another look at " Touchscreen Locking in Maemo 5" -video, and you'll notice that you can see clock just by pressing the power key once.

Not for all avatars. But for the cartoony faces, take a look at avatar face maker inside manga com.
