I got to bowl team Columbia 300 in a baker format. Marshall was of course on that team. I still remember how much fun that was. I think I was 18 and if i remember correctly I was bowling the 4th and 9th and so was marshall.
What I loved the most...despite all the Sh** he talked in the media, despite all the Sh** he talked to Pete Weber, Weber still won 100,000 in their championship match in 1988. The rise of a true talent, the fall of a talented, but sh** talking, bitter loser.
Knowing Weber, he probably had some of it coming. Both Holman and Weber are similar in terms of sportsmanship. Weber isn't beyond talking alot of crap.
@saveus228 ...yeah, lol...true, that. Major differences were acts of violence against other players, and of bowling center equipment. Holman was fined and suspended for both. All of Pete's stuff was all personal crap he just couldn't handle. Marsh...again, his talent and HOF cred is unquestioned. And, when I interviewed him in Wichita in 1993, he had toned down his pompousness some. But, talking to Marsh was like talking to someone still looking for an argument, in some ways. Sorta bullying.
Follow-through, yes. Form, no.Shoulders not square with hips nor foul-line. Jerky transition from backswing to forward. One of the best releases, definitely. Barber should be shot with airsoft until he drops the scissors!
I've always loved games like this, where someone wins many years after their previous win. 8 years here, and in 1995 when Mark Roth won, I believe 7 years after his previous title.
No, he's really not. Sorry, but every pro I've spoken to over the years who's bowled against him agree: he's NOT a class act. Watch the match with Mark Roth when Marshall covers his ears while the crowd applauds Roths winning shot. It's on Youtube also. Great physical game, but not a class act.
So then you felt so inspired to find this video on YouTube to spout your complete stupidity. The funny thing is, you'll probably continue to be a failure for your entire life.
Awesome win for one of my favorites growing up. Now if only I could find a video of the time he kicked a foul light after leaving a 2-4-5-8 in a 1980 tourney, THAT would be funny!
Look at that MULLET OMG!

Calm down, enjoy the posting and don't let the comments from people you'll never meet get you down.
With THAT said, I'll now watch another posting of Marshall exhibiting poor sportsmanship or no self-control. You know, anything with him in it.

they both hit kinda right too much in the pocket

I'm surprised to see Holman to that little hope at the end of his release. i thought that was an amateur mistake.

I think he was sticking at the foul line a little.

Holman used to make believe he was sticking at the line especially on ten pin shots. A little mind game for his opponent to think about.

Wow, what an emotional win. I had tears in my eyes by the end seeing him win for the first time in 8 years. What a great bowler!

I like the Marshall Holman's cheer and first title. How long Marshall had without title?
pbateson 5 years ago
1988 - 1996. 8 years in between.
