Double Twisting Double Tuck chama-se "Tsukahara", movimento executado por Mitsuo Tsukahara em 1970 e não "Mukhina", como está no video.
O "Chusovitina" também está errado. Chusovitina é o Double Straight with Full Turn.
E quanto ao "Silivas", há controvérsias, uma vez que este movimento acrobático foi realizado pela primeira vez por Li Ning, nos Jogos Olímpicos de Los Angeles em 1984.
@krell88 sometimes they don't increase the difficulty value to discourage people from doing the skill. since it is the same as just a double front, no one else(to my knowledge) has competed it. The only person I think could do it today in competition is Rebecca Bross.
Since when is the full-twisting double layout named after Chusovitina? It was first performed in 1987, four years before Chusovitina competed at Worlds. Did they add her name to the most recent code since she performed hers as a layout full out? I would have sworn she wasn't credited with the element before.
It has been called the Chusovitina in the code since 2006 (I haven't got any codes from before then so I don't know if she was credited with it before that)
In 1987? At Worlds? Who did it? Voinea was the first one in doing a double layout, punch-front, but I don't remember having seen any girl doing a full twisting double layout at Worlds in 1987. It's at Worlds or Olympic games where you may get the credit.
That is Tatiana Tuzhikova doing the full-twisting double layout in the 1987 Worlds. She was originally credited with the move, but I have no idea why she no longer gets credit. Perhaps she never submitted the skill, like Mostepanova with the Onodi?
I just looked it up. Tuzhikova is credited with the element, along with Chusovitina (Tuzhikova for the layout full-in and Chuso for the full-out) in the 1997 version of the Code of Points. In 2001, only Chusovitina was credited.
Of course! (I even have that video :p). Thanks for the info. I've seen many funny things with named-after skills and the CoP over the years. I honestly think they haven't followed their own criteria for crediting elements. Someone should lead a revision of them all.
I'd like to see a gymnast open with a Dos Santos II, followed by the Chusovitina, then Silivas, and dismounting with a Podkopayeva. With a Gomez thrown in there. That'd be insane ha
I know Dos Santos did use the Dos Santos II and the Chusovitina and a double layout in her 2008 floor, and I'm pretty sure she could do a Silivas and a Podkopayeva if she trained it. However that Gomez would probably be the one that would give her trouble...
I've been wanting to know this for a long time: Is the double arabian 1/2 twist the same as a half in half out? For example what Patterson or Shwiekert (they come to mind when thinking about half in-half outs) were actually double arabians 1/2 twists? or are they different?
The code does distinguish between the 2 but the difference is pretty minimal. I have often thought that Sacramone's half-in, half-out looks like a double arabian 1/2. Both are worth the same in the code so I suppose it doesn't really matter which the judges credit it as (unless someone tries to do both in the same routine)
The first double arabian 1/2 out example (Amy Chow?) looks much more like a half-in, half-out. I couldn't really see the arabian, but maybe it was the camera angle? The second example is clearly a double arabian 1/2 out.
@MostepanovaFan yes but what I have always wondered is that a full twisting double piked is an E element where as if someone were to do a double arabian pike half out would be an F so I'm kinda confused as to what they would give that
i think it is terrible that the new code doesn't allow the step back when landing. for whatever reason, all the beauty & artistry of womens gymnastics is being eleminated. at this rate, by 2012, the men and women should compete against eachother!
Pokapyeva a F?

Thanks, this was so helpful for a story I'm trying to write as my coach just calls them by what you do in the skill, not there names.

Who is the second girl competing the Gomez?

@MaebySurelyBarely I'm guessing Jiang Yuanyuan or Sui Lu.

it surprises me that a podkopayeve is only valued as an E-skill.

Is the double arabian tucked named after anyone? The first I remember seeing was Karpenko in 1997.

It isn't named after anyone. The first person to perform it at a worlds was Martina Jentsch in 1987.

Who is the second girl doing the Stroescu and also the second girl doing the Andreason?
silivas4ever 2 years ago
The second girl doing the Stroescu is Suzanne Harmes (2002 Glasgow Grand Prix). The second girl doing the Andreasen is Kim Un Jong (2002 Asian Games)
