ok.. i guess now its ok for japan to kill the same amount of ppl in America with Nuclear bombs.. and then shut ur mouth and dont be a hypocrite about it jackass..
I don't doubt the military aspect of the atom bombs and the ending of world war 2.
We should look back on this and learn from it how horrific we can be to each other as human beings. This is just one tiny moment in the history of the universe of which we will derive the destiny of the human spirit.
The dead are not dead. They are everywhere we are. We should respect them and work for peace within our world.
Japanese are amazing people they have shown HOPE to the rest of the world, never to cowar down and rise again and be the best you can be... So much so, that even you own ENEMY loves you.... America Loves Japan more than any other country now... Except Israel.. :) But still, from a staunch enemy to best of friends... All due to Japanese choosing wise path of using their own intelligence and making the best of that was left of their nations and souls
All of this could be avoided if us Women were in charge. Women I say lets step up and control the world!let's all get out of the kitchen and stop making babies and get in the white house or what ever other nations call their's and step up to the plate and take control. Caus men cant handle shit!
no nation is perfect, finger pointing and blaming one another for the deaths of people 60 years ago wont change anything, itll only cause bitterness and resentment
The U.S. govt only takes advantage of countries where dictators run rampant and our country's own electoral populace is apathetic. That being said, go back to your regularly watched tv programs, eat fast food, and plug in the earphones of your ipod, because the "leftists" on youtube are one of us.
"It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificially induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear." by none other than the esteemed and honorable General Douglas MacArthur.

Iavera ,Japan may have commited atrocities, but what happened in Nagasaki,Hiroshima,Tokyo,Dresden,Hamburg etc etc was cold blooded murder on a horrific scale!.Months before the A-Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima the war was won! America just wanted to test their new toy on live targets.Wake Up!
As i was growing up in japan we were told all the atrocities occurred in Hiroshima & Nagasaki. we grew up with the idea of us being the victim of the war. but that clearly isnt true. we were the invader, the murderer, the rapist in china, korea etc. I hope one day ill see people in japan giving silent prayers not only for those who died in japan but also(more importantly)for those died in Nanjing, perl harbour, Korea, singapore, and all the places where we took lives of innocent.
@lavera although what japan did was not justified but united states as a nation, who always takes responsibility of the world, should have no right to drop that bomb on japan or any other country being killed by an atom bomb is more slow and painful than being killed by man slaughter. the side effects last generations i feel terribly sorry for these 2 cities & the generation that is sufferin & prey nuclear no longer exist
What would the body count have been if the war had raged on without the bombs being dropped?
If the course of events had not played out as it was destined to, the nice little life you have, and the freedom to comment on such things, very likely would not even exist. So the question is; now that there is a double edged sword to the nth power, how can we trust the people in power to keep benign control of it? The answer is; we can't, so live like there's no tomorrow. because there may not be.
typical yanks they dont know thier arses from thier elbow the usa is responsible for many more deaths than japan total for a start it is well documented that the sanctions imposed on iraq before the war killed more people than all the weapons of mass destruction ever droped in history and theres more your presidents grand father funded hitler and osama sargent911 is a fool ingnore him and people like they cant help it they come from the united states of fuckedupistan peace
During the Cairo Conference in 1943, FDR suggested Chinese troops can be used for the amphibious landing and the occupation of Japan... CHIANG KAISHEK SHOULD HAVE SAID YES! Had he, the Chinese wouldn't feel the injustice today, and American wouldn't have to a-bomb them. The victim will become the punisher. And a-bomb could have being saved for the show down with Stalin and avoided the cold war. SIGH, if history can only be changed...
The government of Japan murdered countless lives. The government of America murdered countless lives. There were no winners, and nobody was right in their actions.
I cant believe people are trying to justify 200 thousand deaths. America murdered innocent people with these attacks and we are already doing it again in iraq with over 100 thousand iraqi civilians killed. The september eleveth attacks in retrospect yielded 2 thousand deaths.
Do they post memorials like this in Japan for the unprovoked true atrocities they committed in China or any of their other victims? Nobody threatened the country of Japan, yet they begged the world to do it to them. They are fortunate that we didn't treat them like they treated their victims. Why don't you post something about Nanking China or the Philippines?
Sad as it was, this was our best option. A full-scale invasion would have led to death and suffering on a greater scale. That's the sad truth. WWII was a war with no holds barred--torture, the bombing of cities, and genocide; and neither side was completely innocent. What you all need to understand is that there are times when nuclear weapons yield results. This was one of the times.
You have no idea that they were racing with the Russians for Japan did you? Ever noticed how Russia declared war on Japan towards the very end of the war? This was thereal prelude to the cold war
Russia actually called off a treaty renewal because they wanted foothold into China, which was then controlled by the Japanese. After the war, they used Manchuria, i.e. Northern China to stage Mao Zedong's revolution and overthrow Chang Kai-Shek to make China a communist proxy state. Of course this was when it was already obvious that Japan was going to lose. The largest fleet ever assembled--mostly US and British--had surrounded the 4 islands.
I pray that never happens again. What they didn't mention was those that were lucky to survive the blast and burning, had to suffer through radiation sickness as well. Never again...
The day the covards striked the innocent and sick.Bombing civilans, children, old people and handicapped, the sick and the ones that are to weak to be at the battlefields is simply the lowest of all low!
Umm... A significant fraction of a portion of the nation perhaps, but not the WHOLE thing. Also, you seemed to have missed out on a "couple" of additional buildings and two more planes. I am damn proud to be an American as well, but these events should not be exaggerated for comparative purposes (or for any other reason, for that matter).
