If the cars replaced the turning poles, why does no one get 5 second penalty's for hitting the cars? one more knock against MJ as far as legit racing is concerned

Because how many times was a close race ruined because a truck bumped a turning pole.. The margin for error is too small. Besides the cars still fuck you up in the corners so it makes for better racing.
