To show off. There are a ton of drag racers like this, and as a fellow drag racer nothing pisses me off more than seeing idiots who don't know how to get out of the throttle and continually put themselves, and others in danger.

I've seen a handful of drivers that had a great handling car, to the point where little to no steering input was needed on a normal pass, yet every time they are all over the track. They think it's cool to be "driving" the car like that. It's just slower.

i have a car almost identical to this... dude if your watching, fix your idle.. put a .10 feeler gauge under the butterfly and adj your setscrews to that... tip 2 dont get in and out of the throttle if your spinning the tires, 1 you'll probably crash or 2 it will backfire the supercharger

Almost identical to a Two cycle diesel engine these are the only diesels running blowers they donthe same valveoverlap to disperse they open both valves so some fresh air from the blower comes in to try and expel all or most of the burnt gases

@Audiolaboratory the idle is a combination of the blower and the cam. the cam probably has a large overlap area for high rpm power, not idling.

@Audiolaboratory its kinda complicated but basically what happens is both of the valves are open at the same time during idle which causes some or most of the air/fuel mixture to escape the cylinder and burn in the exhaust creating the surge which is basically a backfire. notice once the car gets off of idle it runs fine

I'm gonna have to say that was a fairly decent save... the only part that I think was done wrong was even getting back in it once he lifted the first time. Absolutely no reason to do that and I've seen more cars wrecked from getting back in it on a obviously failed pass than wrecking it off the get go. Still all in all decent save.

the only thing that screwed him is when he left the line hard he let off the throttle which caused the rear to unload and tried to get back in to it loose traction it was driver error but still bad ride
