FAMU Marching 100 at Inauguration Parade 2009

have seen FAMU on a few occasions ( Inaugural Parades) and have been disappointed. Thye're big and sloopy, and they pay little attention to detail in either their playing, and especially their marching. Being a big band is no excuse for slopiness. The Texas Longhorn Band is big, but they're are technicians and musicians. There are only three bands I have followed in Inauguration parades and they are: Ohio State University(twice), Southern Univ (twice) and the Texas Longhorn band.

do not get upset if your band was not there Obama wanted the best for his parade that is why he got the FAMU marching 100. FAMU has been heard around the world. because they are the best. and i do not go to FAMU but i know the best.

but del st, howard, hampton, and others were not in the first division of the parade order. All groups that were placed in the first division were groups that President Obama holds in the highest esteem ie Michelle Obama's high school, the Chicago civic group of tumblers, some other groups from Chicago, and of course the Incomparable Marching 100 of FAMU. FAMU was the first university band, black or white, to lead the order in the parade.

I am so proud of my Alma Mater, I left Tallahassee feeling a sense of pride in my heart. I was watching the news trying to catch them in the parade, but missed them. Did you see Sasha and Malia? Their faces looked so glued to the 100, like they were saying "wow I've never seen anything like this before". I am proud that President Obama had the opportunity to see the 100 represent for the Rattlers as a whole. Much love to the 100 and those still in Tally.

Yes, there were a few members not marching, due to cold/sick after waiting 3 hrs. for the parade to start. But 450 - 20 = "a big &^% band"
