great video, Ive owned the djm 3000 for 6 years now but use it mostly as a line mixer for party and corporate events and therefore havent had a need for all the effects. Its nice to see what this unit can do. I bought the mixer more for its high quality and reliability, clean sound and low hum and noise. I got tired of constantly replacing and storing broken gemni, numarks and vestax mixers in my garage.
Pulse-- you rock man! Thanks for the quick response. You guys have no idea how important your demos are ... I have been to MobileBeat DJ tradeshow in Las Vegas and Atlantic City many times and always stop by the Pioneer booths to show my support. Mainly, I am still impressed after all these years by the "coolness" of this demo and the choice of songs and how well they work together.
@DeejayPulse ...Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year but would be cool meeting you. Heck, I've probably talked to you and not even known it!
In fact, this should crack you up (or perhaps Todd) but when I told my brother I was ordering the Pioneer CD player/mixer and he was home over Christmas (back in 2000 or whenever I bought it) ... my brother was like, "Did you get the "hot toddy" yet? (referring to the Pioneer equipment) haha. It still makes me smile to this day. :)
Thanks again-- add me on facebook (Mike Lonneman)-- would love to keep in touch with you and Todd!
DeeJay Pulse--I'm so glad you posted this video!!! I remember watching it back when it was in the pioneerprodjforums (like 10 years ago?) and it was one of the VERY reasons why I bought a Pioneer CMX-3000 CD Player and DJM-3000 mixer because of your tutorial. That and a demo video by DJ Hot Toddy.
By the way, what are the 2 tracks you are playing in this demo video? I can tell one of the songs sounds like instrumentals from Fatman Scoop's 'Be Faithful' track but can't figure out the other?
Ok - well, curiosity got the best of me and thanks to "SoundHound" app for iPhone I was able to identify both tracks: 'Love Like This' by Faith Evans and 'Lady Venom' by Swollen Members! You wouldn't believe how long those songs have been embedded in my subconscious psyche! (in a good way!)
Thanks again for the memories... do you ever talk to DJ Hot Toddy or is he still around?
@mlonneman > Added the two songs to the video description above, but you've got them both! Toddy's now working for Denon (bleh) but I haven't seen him in over a year.
Thanks for sharing your comments - you're not the first to say this video helped sell a 3000!
So whats a ground loop? How do i check that?.Yes it happens with every thing.
I cd players and laptop are connected to pioneer mixer. From mixer using balanced xlr leads to jbl eon (active).Once i turn mixer on and turm main volume up a little i get a buzzing noise. The further i move the volume up the louder the buzzing.I had look on back of mixer and its got a master level att screw, whats this? could this be tuirned up to loud? thanks mate
@johnr7105 > The likely culprit is the fact you have the mixer and speakers connected to separate electrical circuits. First disconnect all devices from the mixer and just connect mixers to speaker, see if there's buzz. If so, try connecting the speakers to the same electrical circuit. If no buzz, reconnect CD deck and try again.
hi mate just a quick one, i have one of these mixers and i get buzzing noise from my speakers.i never had the buzzing noise from my last mixer a citronic.Any ideas
This is a classic Pulse video from the vault. I remember when you first recorded this. Was this before or after you taped a webcam to a baseball cap to free up both hands when recording?
LOL - that's exactly it! I had my crappy old webcam taped to the brim of the baseball cap, I called it the "NurdHat". ;)
I had to post it because there was someone looking for it and I couldnt' find it anywhere online. I'm also going to repost my nine 909 effects videos although I think somebody else already has them online.
