  • =) !! excellent

  • I'm having a great time digging through all of your Beatles stuff Vic. Very impressive....I'm loving it all. :)

  • @StandardSam1 Thanks man enjoy yourself, I love the Beatles, good compositions, guys who knew their trade and George Martin a Classically trained producer writing great additional arrangements,Vic.

  • Nice one, Vic! Great tune to play and to sing. Oh---one year since posting;-)

Great work with the bass line in the middle!

    See you, my friend!

    Frank

  • @LONGWINDING that's what I mean,Amigo Frank still checking out the older ones and you're right man,I love those chromatic bass lines using chord inversions, thanks for your ears my friend,Vic.

  • Just do a query "Trambone" on youtube. You will get several hits, but the best is by "bgdenham." It is a classic Chet Atkins piece. Finger-style. Good variation in chords and easy to listen to. Check it out and let me know what you think. Billy Denham is a neighbor of Soddy Daisy, TN, my home town. Great guy!

  • @joepilot48 Thanks for the explanation, I'll certainly check out old Chet, greetings Vic.

  • You ever do Trambone?

  • @joepilot48 Trambone what's that my friend???

  • Well done! Excellent sound and brilliant picking! Love it when it's played nice and smooth.

  • Thanks StarPathOne, you pinpoint something important<I would say don't record before you feel a song in your bones, all the best,Vic.

  • I mean, the finger style and classic way you play it =)

  • Thanks, I know what you mean, this tune lends itself for such an arrangement, glad you enjoyed it,Vic.

  • I like this greatly!)

It reminds me of good old days in music school =)

  • Thanks Bob, this Music will be around for a long time, good compositions, cheers Vic.

  • you're really cool! nice job I love this song from the beatles!

  • @sampogi0518 Indeed a very nice Composition,thank you,Vic.

  • Do you mind if I steal this from you ? :) Great arrangement.

  • The moment I put it on YT I can expect this question and you ask it, some just copy boldly without asking so what do you you expect me to say? Vic.

  • Not note for note - that might take a lot of time (transcribing) but I like your general idea on the song. It gives me a good foundation to work on :)

  • Lovely tune. Lovely played

  • Mathijs you know all about it,you can't go wrong with the Beatles man. Thanks, love arranging this Stuff, greets Vic.

  • NICE TECHNICS, GREAT PLAYING!!!

  • Thanks Artyom,if you like finger-style and Jazz you're on the right channel my friend, greets Vic.

  • Wow , that was incredible!

    Looked so effortless too :)

  • Thanks looneyliina, the "Art" lies in letting it seem effortless but it's quite a different story when one sits down and actually has to play it :)

  • My headache is gone when I heard you play.

  • Thanks whereis... listen to more of my finger style work and you'll never need pills and a Doctor anymore, lol,Vic.

  • really nice cover of an excellent beatles song!!!

  • Thanks bentheled, those guys always laid down some interesting material that make my grey cells work,ha ha, greets Vic.

  • Hi Bobchai,a very true statement you made, what I'm trying to say is that I'm going for the gems among these compositions, in other words: Music that's interestingly composed and lend themselves for creative arrangements, else I would start getting bored very soon, friendly greetings Vic.

  • One of my favourite Beatles songs, yet it's not well remembered. The melody is timeless and perfect. Your version is a delightfully unique interpretation.

  • Thanks Bobchai,I'm most content with word "timeless" which quality Music should be, we're not here to produce "throw away" Stuff ,the Globe is loaded with that already, greets Vic.

  • Jazzguts, every era produces music which becomes quickly dated. The 1920s had their 'flapper' music, but the era also produced Cole Porter and Gershwin. The Beatles had a few songs which sound dated today, but by and large their repertoire holds up, after 40 years. Thanks maybe to George Martin, but songs like this one are indeed "timeless".

  • this is so relaxing, great ending, don't u have a cd or something?, just amazing congratulations!! u rock !! kisses from Peru ( sorry My English is not very good)

  • Thanks giyonce83, for the fine compliment, in a while it will be able to purchase CD's at my webSite, see the Info here to the right, to find the WebSite address, visit it and you'll know more about my background in Music, greets from Holland Vic.

  • Pretty damn good stuff. I liked your Hendrix song best. .

  • Thanks rox7899, well Hendrix is very cool to play, but finger-style I'll tell you to be good at that is ball-buster,greets Vic.

  • Here is the sun I was looking for!! :-)

    Just wonderful, my friend!

    Roeleke

  • Yeah Roeleke hoping for the Sun all day and all i see is that Dutch frog weather, now I'm really getting the Blues, better grab my guitar and cheer myself up, thanks for dropping in,Vic.

  • this is not only nice, this is fabulose so warm sound and rich armonic, another great performance ,Vic

  • Thanks leyva905, those are well meant warm words of appreciation, thanks so much, always welcome to my channel,Vic.

  • Fantastic! This arrangement is SO cool.

  • thanks Rich, hear that descending bass line in there, something I learned from listening to Bach, the best teacher in harmony on this planet, lol, greets Vic.

  • Perfect ... I have to tell you that I like this composition and styling more even, than the original.

  • Thanks Carol,I see you're checking out my newer Stuff much obliged and I also have some catching up to do on your channel, thanks for listening, always welcome,Vic.

  • Really nice-I might have to steal some ideas from that one!

  • hello Vic, lovely arrangement, played with brio ! bravo, friendly, patrick

  • Thanks Patrick,Beatles is always very satisfying and rewarding to work on,always fine compositions, thanks for dropping in,cheers Vic,

  • Hi Victor, nice one again! (I prefer acoustic, just my taste)

And your website is good, it is interesting to see that you've been learning all through your life, for instance you would not have been able to play what you do today (and pass on the knowledge) when you were 25.

  • Interesting comment greenlentils, your statement 100% true, I'll never be the type to rest and sit in-front the flowers till my time has come, what's the point of being Alive and not developing, when I'm in my coffin there's time enough to endlessly rest,LOL, thanks for checking out my Site, greets Vic.

  • Guys like you kill me , thats it ....I'm dead so you won't hear from me anymore ( kidding ) I'm still here.Beatles , a seemingly endless well spring of melody ,counter melody, raw production .Timeless.Great treatment as always Vic.I also like reading through the comments and discussions ,everybody loves you.Me too.

  • Thanks goodsonbasinger, very cool comment, I love the word "Timeless" cause in my opinion that's what Music should be, else you'll be ending up with the throw away Stuff and there's too much of that around I think, greetings Vic.

  • haha, very nice man. I like the digressions and added bits especially. great ending.

  • Thanks Tony, glad you liked my version, always welcome man,Vic.

  • Very nice arrangement Vic and as usuall very well played.

  • Thanks llanbradach, much appreciated,I'll drop in soon and listen to your recent work, greets vic.

  • It's always a pleasure to hear you playing your beautiful guitar. Take care Vic.

  • Thank Edwin, thanks for dropping in and listening, all the best Vic.

  • Master of the guitar !

    *****

  • Thanks kenoeff, glad you enjoyed,and commented,Vic.

  • my friend Vic, with glasses or without glasses "that is the question" lol ... you still playing with "duende", as the flamenco guitarists say, emotion and elegance with a very difficult to overcome. We hear all of your videos with true devotion,

    Your friend from Barcelona, Angel

  • Hi there Angel, ah yeah the glasses, that's the question,LOL, glad to hear from you, the flamenco guitarists are fantastic, I haven't been raised in that tradition but I adore it and all the beautiful techniques they posses, as a european I cannot sound like them but I have an alternative that's being myself and making own arrangements and executions, but believe me in my next life I'd like to be born in Spain, greets Vic.

  • Love the interlude Vic. Brilliant harmony. Very nice bass movement. The outro is very clever.

    Damn good Vic.

    allen

  • Thanks Allen, this was a really inspiring job to do and as always I listen real closely to the bass parts of Paul M, simply brilliant, I think he's listened a great deal to Bach, very smart that chap especially when you start analyzing how he thinks, cheers Vic.

  • Most bass players just connect with the kick drum and function like a bottom end rhythm instrument. McCartney's bass lines are often very melodic.John often sang a lower harmony a 5th below McCartney. Unusual for the time.Ringo was no Buddy Rich but he complimented and became part of the music. Maybe that's why it worked so well. George Martin probably had his nose in there somewhere.

Lots of things came together to make their magic.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Allen, Mc Cartney uses many chord inversions in his playing which enhances the Music in a beautiful way, and you're right his bass parts are melodic, George Martin certainly was a great producer for the Beatles and his violin and cello arrangements just fantastic, Cheers Vic./

  • Vic,this is beautiful.... Your repetition main theme (sorry if it's not the correct term) the arpeggiated C-G-F-C chord is memorable! It connect with this song (one of my fave Beatles song among many!) And the chord inversions is nicely fit and not distort the structure of the song...Great arrangement! Anyway, I've visited your website! It'll be my routine visit Vic!

  • Thanks so much Lanang, great you visited my webSite, you can find much background info bout me there, and listen to former CD's, (in a while also possible to purchase) in the future lessons will also be placed, thanks for great comment, cheers Vic.

  • Hi my friend!

Another stunning performance of a great song. I thought that on the very end you flavored this nice music very well, with Spanish/Oriental type lick but that last chord did put the cherry on the cake.

    What chord name is that?

    Regards,

    Franco

  • Thank you Franco, how are you my friend? for me the interesting part where all the chord inversions in the Bridge (re-harmonization) like: C/Bb F/A Fm/Ab C/G ,love all those slash-chords with other bass-notes. The last chord is named: Cmaj79 (a nice Jazz-type chord),Greetings Vic.

  • Hi Vic, long time since my last comment, but I always appreciate your music. Very personnal and played with soul.

    You just made my day.

    -John

P.S. By the way, 5 stars of course.

  • Hi Vic,

    great arrangement!

I like the most the last chords. Sounds cool!

It looks so easy how you play the guitar...

    Hugs

    Sabine

  • Thanks Sabine, there are several movements that work real well, and I love using chord inversions, greets Vic.

  • Nice arrangement, Vic and great playing as always!

    Greets

How is it going with selling your arrangements? Anything new?

    New glasses?

    Keep well!

    Per-Olov

  • Thanks Per,for your supportive words, ah those glasses, they're really for far only, when I read I have to put them off. well there was a time I was selling great, but now I find a tendency on YT that everything should be for free, you think it has something to do with the Crises, definitely, how's your selling going? Hope well, thanks for your words Maestro,Vic.

  • I can fell the crises too. But I cannot complain. :-) I think that music will always be a priority... I hope so,

    Per-Olov

played ..as in "G one day-F7+ youll find"

Your rendidtions though always inspire and you

    are a very masterful guitarist.

    "Don't ever lose your dreams"

    ilikechet-Michael

  • Thanks Michael, that could be a good option F7 5+, it's an alteration in the G key but sounding great, that's the Beatles always harmonic surprises. well I did lot's with inversions like F/A Fmi/Ab C/G I learned those great techniques by closely listening to Bach's bass parts, now that's a monster out of this Universe, my dreams are my hope cause the real world isn't very pleasant these days, greets Vic.

  • Great arrangement, Vic and your guitar sounds beautiful.

    Martin

  • Thanks Martin, I love this style man,the possibility to play alone and execute these great tunes, greets Vic.

  • Great arrangement! I have discovered a long time ago that all Beatles repertoire is fair game for jazz improvisation and reharmonization. More please!

  • Thanks Jake, you're darn right and you know why? Because they're all well composed and logical, good melodies as well, look what you did with Norwegian Wood, very good man, greets Vic.

  • I always sing along whenever you do a Beatles arrangement...aren't they beautiful songs still....

This is a George Harrison song isn't it?

    Very nicely done...:-)

  • Thanks Marieke,you bett they're beautiful,I don't know if george wrote this one,I'll look it up,greets Vic.

  • The song was written by Paul McCartney

  • Another great arrangement and I totaly agree with your comment on the excellence of the Beatles' original work. They revolutionized pop music in the 60's. I saw them live in Saint Louis. It was very exciting. Great job and I love that guitar you played. It was a perfect choice for this arrangement.
