@jamanticus Shafran has incredible technique, he is even more talented with Rostropovich, But after thirty, he went crazy and started vibrating like crazy. He used to play like Rostropovich, piatigorsky, and fuermann but then something hit him and he started going backwards. Thats why Rostropovich was so much more famous.
Finally somebody put something played by Shafran on this side! Thank you klee0000!!!!! Do you have more videos with him? And who can post videos with Karine Georgian, another extremely intense cellist?
I love his vibrato! :D

I have no clue about music's technicalities and if Shafran is the best cellist or not, but why am I crying?

@RibalMolaeb I'm not quite sure if Johann Sebastian Bach said something against shit extreme vibrato. Did he do this?
FlameOfAnor17 2 months ago
Hahaha! While half the world tunes down their cellos for bach, Shafran tunes UP! Awesome.

Got a train to catch?! Slow down and enjoy the music, this is a dance not an exersize.

He's just doing a different interpretation- not one that you might use, but he does it with sincerity and he gets the point across.

Umm... the Bach Cello Suites are stylized dances, intended to be played in a concert setting. So you can forget about that train :-P

I think his intensity of tone rivals the queen of intensity herself (du pre) - yikes!
Coming from a guy that's listening through speakers inside the computer (not external or headphones!)

hahaahaha dude, this is one of the best cellists EVER. he is extremely expressive and i don't think you even know who this is (which is a shame)

Fantastic, although I like Maisky's playing a bit better as he simplifies the piece, whereas shafran is harder to follow.
