  • i love lancaster!

  • lol that's great. I love the roads in america :)

  • i wish they can put a music road in burnsville i think that will be cool

  • I've been there. Its in my video, the new location that is. It's still in lancaster, but its really really out of tune where the relocated it.

xD We drove 100 miles just for that. Its was like "Woo Hoo! We're here! Singing road OMG!"

    *drive*

"Woo hoo... Singing road. Omg, we drove 100 miles for this..."

  • the road is fine.

im sure there are many factors that play into how it sounds

    how fast you are going

the kind of tires you have

and im sure many other factors

  • okay, now i finally get that honda commercial

  • lol

  • Its in the wrong key. But oh well its still cool.

  • it doesnt sound the same as the real song kinda better

  • It would be pretty cool if it actually sounded like it...

  • Soemone should nark on Honda that they edited the tone of the song for their commercial yet in real life its horribly out of tune.

  • it also depends on your speed, tires, and other things. I bet if you drove the honda they had, and at the speeds they were going, it would be in that tune. you can't tune it for every car on the road...

  • Nope. I drove it, in a Honda, at the same speed, with the factory given tires advertised in the ad, and it still sounded bad. The new location is even worse. xDD

  • Lol, That's it.

  • It was already paved over, but they put it somewere else. Its still in Lancaster though..... On Avenue G between 60th and 70th I think......It sounds better there...

  • This was a failed attempt to have the grooves play the "William Tell Overture" (theme to the Lone Ranger)... but they apparently never consulted someone who KNOWS how the tune goes. It's off in its intervals and its rhythm at the end. It's close enough for people with no musical ear to say, "Uh, the Lone Ranger?"

  • Hooray for the power of whiny complainers!

  • thats lame that they are paving over it. i mean its cool! i wanna drive over it lol

  • This idea came from japan.....

  • It's not just japan. South korea has them, germany has them.

  • Its a shame a few have to ruin it for everyone else! HONDA invested HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars into this project! FORTUNATELY for everyone elses pleasure HONDA is graciously going to Do this at another location. COnstruction will begin in two weeks... (10-20-08)

  • Lol, its Guitar Hero in real life

  • What or who in the world lives nearby enough to have complained?! From the looks of the scenery, the only inhabitants might be a few tumbleweeds and prairie dogs! That's ridiculous that someone complained...I think it's cool! (Or WAS cool...)

  • i saw this video on msnbc, and heard that the city of lancaster paved over it today. I didnt know at the time, a specific speed should have been kept, i really didnt know much, just knew it was something i wanted to capture and put on youtube. the city of lancaster is talking about putting something like it near appolo park ave G.

  • drive 55mph and you will get better tone.

  • I didnt realise i was supposed to drive slower, so the pitch is not as it should, it originally was used in a HONDA commercial. and because of complaints from those that live nearby, as of 09.18.08, the grooves have been removed, alas no more singing road.

  • Actually it won't be paved over until 9/23.

We drove on it today, so you still have a couple days to try it out.

  • Thanks Joe, Never heard or heard of that before. Nigel in NZ
