i have updated my n5800 via (ovi) but something weird went to happen ..

the screen is half gray. and a white line waving ..

any solution??

Ok. Once more. First download Nokia Software Updater(google it) and follow the instructions.

If NSU says you have latest firmware,you need to change your product code using NSS from b-phreaks (google it).

To know the product code that you can change to withought voiding the warranty please visit dailymobile forum (you can visit any site, but this is the site I use and they always help)

when your on alphanumeric keypad you turn your phone sidewas and you have full screen qwerty

did you by any chance changed your product code? if you did its possible you chose Chinese product code as they dont have WLAN. Change your product code to one of that your own region's and update again.

If you didnt change the product code then try to Hard reset your fone. It may solve your problem. But take a backup first as Hard reset will delete all your data.

well..i have got a bug that when i keep my phone on charging the backlight never goes off until you lock/unlock it again. But its not too bothering.

i think that the new phone that u buy might already have v40.

u can check it by pressing *#06# on the dialer pad.

now if it doesn't have v40 don't buy the phone that is lower than v20.

once u buy it u'll need to download nokia pc suite. connect ur phone to ur comp and run the pc suite. u'll see an update option. press it. it will show u the latest firmware available for ur fone i.e. v40

downlaod it. feel free to message me if u need more info

the update is not (and probably will not be) available via inbuilt software updater. you need to update using nokia pc suite.

hey guys the v 40.0.005 for 5800 has a drawback concerning the contack bar, its doesnt display the history of the contacks in the contact bar, instead it displays only the last transaction made by the contack..

So how is this better? They put contacts LARGE on the home so you can edit them alllllll daaaay loooong? 8apps and a contact strip on the bottom would make more sense... Photo browser from betalabs is better too. The only good thing now that I updated my maps to map3 and that is really awesome!

People who are buying new phones frequently (and write feedbacks to Nokia) make it possible for comp.s like Nokia, SE etc. to roll out newer phones. Without them you would still use a 2110 (and I can't wait for the AEON). I can put 100s of contacts on my ph. but that doesn't mean I want to see/edit them in every min. The ones I want to reach I can w/ a click on Contacts. Peace :)
