If you got UT2004, try the mod (it's free) first and see whether you like it. On the funlevel server (see video description) you find guys who play both - they can tell you about the difference.
The gameplay looks a bit easier in the mod version of RO.

yea i like it, but i hav 2 put it on the lowest graphics cos my video/graphics card overheats so my pc starts to crash... o well better than nothing
