As I surfed YouTube for versions of Perfidia faithful to the composer's "Original Intent," this particular rendition jumped out.

I don't know the performers' names, but whoever they are, thank you.

I must agree with egrogem. A superb version of a beautiful song.

Perfidia has an absolutely beautiful and unforgettable melody..

This group respects the material, and brings out its full potential.

Other performers have trashed the song by "deconstructing" its spine, its melodic line.

Heard this song echoing up from the courtyard of a hotel in Acapulco, to our room on the 19th floor. My wife & I had just gotten in after a 10 hour runway delay in Texas. The live Mariachi band rendition was so sweet it brought tears to our eyes, but we were too beat to even take the elevator downstairs. So now this is our song. Humphrey Bogart & Ingrid Bergman dance to it briefly in Paris in the beginning of Casablanca. Very romantic.

It is also in Now Voyager with Bette Davis. I have both of those movies, and only recently realized the same version is in both. Just lovely.

Thanks for the notice of my comment. I always liked Now Voyager also. I'll listen for that song next time I see it.

I got it slightly off in my comment. Bogart & Bergman dance to it in the Paris flashback sequence actually, not in the beginning of the movie.

I recently heard that the tune came from Venezuela. Don't know if that's right.
