  • Hey crowd, you are witnesses something amazing. Can you at least pretend like you give shit?

  • Suddenly I'm sixteen, it's the eighties and I'm underage drinking smiling up at the stage... THANKS SO MUCH for these memories!

  • The beauty of this song has slowly but surely dawned on me.

  • when was this recorded? Robert with bleached hair, Amanda on violin..?

  • The Go Betweens ,for me, made the eighties livable.Goodnight Grant Mclennan and thank you.

  • Very skilled musically ..... subtle, delicate and creative ...... it shows when others do cover versions ...... lovely gobetweens

  • so smithsy

  • @stankler reminds me of Echo and the Bunnymen even more than the Smiths... just my opinion of course. Love it all.

  • @stankler reminds me of Echo and the Bunnymen a lot more than the Smiths; IMO. Love it all!

  • cry for a lullaby quite sublime

  • I would have loved to se them live at least once...

  • That was great!

  • To fans of this band, please realize how lucky you are to have this great footage available like this, of what is one of their top songs for sure. An album version or video if this song would be great to see on here too.

This band remains largely unknown, and I feel prievalged to have discovered them as a teenager, when they were releasing this music. Unbelievably influential and creative music these guys created.

  • @Hruundi Thank you. Wonderful stuff always.

  • Timeless. This is my favorite song from this truly great band. The tune in the end is haunting!!!

  • the magnificent violin!

  • zactly! ;-)

  • but good!

  • You say that as though it's a bad thing....

  • he is not

  • He couldn't be, merely by account that there's only one gay in the village, a spot already claimed.

  • what an awful audience!

  • It's a TV audience in a TV studio for a TV program of the time. It wasn't filmed at a GoBs gig in front of eager punters who'd paid to be there. Big difference.

  • I was tripping on Tripe at the time ....eh eh!!

  • always liked this song....maybe they slightly overdid violins during this period...
