I am a proud akita owner. Need a female pup though to start a breeding program with my boy. Akitas are awesome dogs. They are the only breed that never lose their cuteness or good looks. Every dog is cute when they are a puppy then just turn into an average looking dog. Akitas are adorable as pups, and never lose it. If anything they even look better when they are older. Just a sweet animal. Totally trustworthy (though sometimes stubborn).
I had a chi and an akita living together. the little one would try to bite her paws and when she got tired of him all she had to do was shove him and he would be across the yard.....they had a love hate relationship....... she passed now at the age of 13 was the best dog i ever owned....................
class dogs i have 2 female is great in house and out with people but hates dogs my other dog a male is an angel in the house but a nitemare out of the house would bark at anything its a shame cos restricted on walks with him but the light up my world when i get home from work i also have a cat which the female hates but the male loves the cat was there first and is the boss i love there aloofness

question for akita owners.....my german shepherd is 12.5yrs old, a gentle but dominate dog in his prime 30' at shoulders 120+ lbs. clown prince to those he's close with, fearless, unrelenting, aloof at times, he'd protect his family (cat included) with his life, yet now in his old age he's kind to birds and squirrels alike, a gentle soul.

i have two akits 1 male 1 female both are amazing the male is agressive domanant but loves me n my family to bits n yes i hav witnessd him fight plenty ov times he killd a pitbull right before my eyes that pit actuly tryd to attack me in a park then one time both ov them mauled two rottys crazy shit these dogs r tha best a dnt use them for fightng thy are me chilldren my protection and my family akitas are the best dogs no doubt about it thy make me smile everytime a see one
my fiance wont let me have one she has listened to too mutch predjudice about akitas as far as she is concerned they are vicious i miss my old one i had as a young teenager he was brilliant half american half jap his name was tank she acctually goes white in the street if she sees one all coz of peoples bull she has been fed.

Have a 10 year old Akita that I have had all of those 10 years. She is getting old but I have so cherished these years with her. I am not sure if I will ever have another one, but it would be hard to replace Cho Cho once she goes on to the Rainbow Bridge.
Truly! Anything else is just a dog! But the dog is not for everybody. Only those people wise enough to let the Akita speak to them get to see the true wonder and inner beauty of this creature.
When he doesnt like someone or something he tells me. hard to find a bitch who he can breed with not many american akitas where i live. hes 11months old and weighs 12stone
If Akita is raised with or properly introduced to other animals they usually will do fine. My Akita loves people but hates other animals. She is the queen of her world and nothing else is welcome in it. She is true Alpha Female and will not tolerate another animal. Makes it tough some times but I would not have another breed!
Actually Lady has me trained well. LOL. I never new it was posible for dog to train owner. If you would like to see her on youtube type lady akita dog, shows her head in the snow!
My Akita is the same way. My sister wanted to give me her dog because of a move and I just told her that Cho Cho would never allow another dog in this house . The poor thing would starve and get beat up everyday. Cho Cho rules. She is 10 but sometimes acts like a 2 year old Akita. I am trying to appreciate every single day I still have with her.

I personally love them. I've been waiting get one myself but I cant never find any breeders in my area that dont require me to neuter it. I'm in NJ and everyone is very strict here because they don't want backyard breeders. It makes sense but i don't think we should neuter it just because of a few idiots that use them for profit. It's the greatest friend any human can have.
wow. when the dog is standing and leaning against the fence, it almost doesn't look like a dog. so powerful, you can see it's big strong legs and shoulders. what an amazing dog, this akita.

Great picture show! Akitas are simply wonderful dogs. We are on our second now. Our first made it 11 years, what a great dog he was. Our latest has such the personality, and is such a lover! He cuddles up with us at night and yet gives a nice growl/bark when he sees people approaching the house (in typical Akita fashion). Excellent dogs they are!

That said, holy shit! These dogs are freaking awesome! A patient of mine from work told me about his and got me curious. Since my faves are pits, german sheps, dobies, and rotties, I figured since Am. Akitas have some of them in their blood I'd check them out. The only problem for me is whether I want the akita or my one from my original group of faves. Great pics.

She is a wonderful dog! We had a beautiful red male akita before her, he lived for 13 1/2 years, at 140 pounds he was a wonderful dog!

Great vids mate, recognised a couple of danti Akita's, (Megan as a pup)and danny.
Most Akita's are great with cats, as ours is, Akita's are very cat like in some ways.

Thats not true. Akitas and cats can get along very well. Would you think rabbits and akitas is dangerous cause my akita licks there rabbits and does not do ANY harm to them. not trying to be mean just telling u new information
