@VeggiesandBrownRice I understand what you're saying but please, we shouldn't be watching movies for realism. We watch movies, play games and read books to escape the real life into a world where something is different, if the world we escape into is just as realistic as the one we left, then there is no point.
To deny the existence of the devil and especially God is a highly arrogant claim which no human has authority to make. Isn't it more 'ignorant' to deny the existence of something which is by definition beyond our comprehension?
It's funny Hollywood made a movie called "The Excorcism of Emily Rose" that portrayed the same real life girl but they sensationalized it and added in all kinds of special effects like she was really possessed and the Priest is a hero but in real life The Priest basically contributed to the girl's death by not helping her get proper medical treatment.
Whoops, meant to give you a thumbs up. You are absolutely right. Ignorant people usually hear about this and actually think it was a real demon possession. What they don't understand is that the devil doesn't exist. If this girl hadn't been brought up in a Chrsitian home this wouldn't have happened to her. She was mentally ill and needed , medical treatment, you know, treatment which is based on reality... science.
@HDaviator Idiots believe in God and other idiots believe in evolution! yada yada yada, it never fails. they say the devil did it and they are morons. The other morons just as stupid say there is no god like they know everything. I don't believe in either. I just see the stupidity from both sides but am not afraid to admit it.
So... what do you believe in? I don't know everything, I just go to the side where scientific evidence goes. Evolution is not a fact but a theory, however a theory for which there is substantial testable evidence, not just an old book that says evolution is real. It is fine that you take no sides, however, with all due respect, I also consider your stance to be stupid, for if everyone was like you there would be no will to go out and prove stupid beliefs wrong.
@HDaviator I appreciate your stance. I like science where it is valid and testable. I do not use it for evolution because it quite frankly cannot test it. Nobody has observed evolution and I believe in only things that can be observed and tested. I am talkabout things in the here and now. Evolution anyways violates true science so much that I cannot see how people can ever consider it true. It should be child abuse to teach it to our children. As for God, well i have no time for idiocy.
Respond to this video..What do I believe? I believe in there here! I belive in all things testable, and reality. Not some made up contribed evolution theory, or little green men playing johnny apple seed with planet earth. If I believe in evolution i might as well believe in the flying teapot from mars. If I believe in God, then which god do i believe in? Or maybe the flyingSpaghetti Monster. I am a realist. Neither one is testable scientifically. Although evolution tries, but not true science
@HDaviator I respect your opinion, but even though you consider my stance stupid, at least I have stance. My stance is that I have no stance. Think about it for a sec. Evolution is as stupid as the idiocy of a God belief. You think there is testable evidence. You are indoctrinated to believe that from a child. Just like we are with foolish religion. What we believe to be scientific is really relying just as much on faith
@viper280 Actually you have no stance on the discussion so I ask why are you involved in it? Puking our paradoxes such as "My stance is that I have no stance" does not really make your intellect shine above others who believe in God or in science. Also, I'd love to see the empirical evidence that you have supporting your theory of "Both science and religion are stupid along with the those who practice them. Only those who do not have believes can be classified as non retarded individuals."
@BabyYeahlol thank you for your response! This is what i am looking for! Someone voicing their opinion but yet being intelligent about it. That is all I am after. I do have a stance! However, you always see people just spewing vomit out of their lips and it is quite disturbing. We all see the same evidence, however it has to be enterpreted by our current world view. It does no good to argue evidence in these cases because both use the same evidence. It all boils down to world view.
@viper2808 You are not being forced to believe but you could at least show respect to those who do. I personally believe in both to a certain degree, yet I'm humble enough to admit that I know nothing. I'm not worth more than any other creature living in this planet and neither are you (You are just another mammal). Do keep in mind that the easiest people to mess with are those who think they are smarter than everyone else.
Thank you again for your response. It proves my point that some people can have intelligence and you showed it with this comment. I very rarely see that on YOUTUBE comments.
I didn't like The Exorcim Of Emily Rose very much because of all the trial scenes. I'm usually not much into trial movies. But REQUIEM is a very good and very depressing DRAMA, not horror movie.
How come this movie never came out in America? Because i've seen the trailer like 3 years ago but it never came out! and i want to see it on youtube but i says that this movie was forbidden in america :(
she could only rebel by going completely nuts. that hard the repression of her religious upbringing had been. she could not accept rebellion as a part of a healthy mind. besides she had a physical condition.
this is a great movie, not a "horror" film, but a film about humans. the interpretation of the main character is very, very convincing. the tragedy of her surrender to death is very well portrayed
The screaming at the end (the exorcism) sounds quite real, if you were going off of some popular audio shared of "the real" exorcism of anneliese michel.
@Swissarmy48 I understand that, but an exorcism was performed on her because her family actually thought she was possessed. That why I said the exorcism of Anneliese Michel
i think ne 1 who beleives that this world is made up of only things we can see and touch is very foolish maybe this girls troubles atre nt related to supernatural but everything cannot be explained by science
I saw this film yesterday on IFC. I've seen it a few times. Everytime I see it, I believe in the possession theory less and less. I've read up on epilepsy and pschizophrenia, and my sister is a shrink. I think it's interesting that the vast majority of these "possession" cases are young people going through big changes (starting college, etc.) and come from religious backgrounds. I think the only real evil out there is the evil in our own hearts and minds.
@ChetzNation old post is old, but more than likely the devil selects those who have faith in god to protect them, so that he can tear them apart and try to show god that he's ruining their faith in them. idk its weird.
@waaiken Just give up already. Isn't it a weird coincidence how all of her symptoms are concordant to those of split personality disorder? A neurological trauma caused by, for instance, abuse in the early childhood and the personalities are often related to that abuse? (Commonly split personality disorder might be son/dad if the son was abused.)
If it wasn't horrible enough that people believe in invisible friends in their adult years, people destroy other peoples' lives based on those friends.
@ChetzNation yeah its interesting that it is. maybe a demon gave those symptoms to here to lead people to think it was a split personality disorder. I mean it could be either either one. you're knowledge of the disorder far surpasses mine and i applaud you for that. And your knowledge of the supernatural may surpass mine. I myself feel as it may have been both. I need to watch the movie, i'm going off of what I've read on the original case, which i need to reread which was some time ago
@waaiken ...Yeah... I wrote an essay on it. Regardless of whether or not you're a theist, she wasn't really possessed. And the priests didn't really help either. With modern treatment, she might have been fixed.
@ChetzNation I am a theist, but I tend to look at things more of a science/religion kind of thing(stupid i know, but it is what it is). From everthing that i've read all the priest said it wasn't a case of possession, just split personality/schizophrenia, which seems highly possible. I'd really like to read that paper that you wrote, do you have it posted anywhere?
This trailer's a rare one in my opinion. The background music, and everything that follows up to the end where she starts screaming, followed to a fade to black then the title fades in. The ending of the background music's a nice touch to it as well; it makes for a unique atmosphere of terror. :D
Well, to me it's unique. A lot of trailers often have in-your-face moments; compared to them, this one is more subtle, and the end of the trailer depicts that she is supposedly possessed by a demon, but the movie's portrayal of it is meant more to be mystifying, depicting such that no demon is involved, that she's acting that way for whatever reason, but based on the true story there is a demon involved.
Is this scarier than The Exorcism of Emily Rose? I'm not religious at all, but, I will admit, I found the trailer for The Exorcism of Emily Rose to be a little unnerving
I didn't think this film was scary at all. It mostly focuses on the subject of mental illness. Emily Rose is more intense because it focuses more on the spiritual.
I don't think it's supposed to be scary, it's more of a drama and telling the more "truthful" story of this girl who made headlines as well as her family, and the exorcism hysteria in Germany during the 70's
This film isnt't based on being scary or something, it's a better closeup on how Annelies Michels life really was, Annelie Michel is the real name for Emily rose. Anyway, Emily rose it's a movie beginning where this young girl start being tracked by demons, or what the most people would call, phsychologial problems. This movie is about her whole life, a better perspective on how it really was, as I said.
its interesting how there are no effects put on her voice or possession-qualities in this trailer - i havent seen the film, but maybe this is like the opposite the film 'the exorcism of emily rose' in that this film portrays anneliese michel's so called possession as mental illness.
I seriously want this movie!!! I really The exorcism of like Emily Rose but this movie is supposed to be more accurate to what really happened to Anneliese Michel...
great movie. somebody should warn people that watching it, they're not going to watch a horror story though. I read some comments that don't fit under such a trailer, in my opinion.
we did not see this movie in hungary.i think, after the "communism" catholic church has too much power. We can't see scorsese's christ also, not even the telly!
After reading the book, this movie really stinks. It portrays Anneliese Michel's mother as the cause of her 'possession' and Anneliese as a lunatic. Sandra Huller's movies are nasty gross, you ought to see her new one, 'madonnas'...I vomited almost! Yipes. I'll never see germany the same way, if at all.

It's based on the same story that "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is based on. Only it's more authentic to the actual story, and is a drama instead of a horror film. Also, it's an excellent film that received rave reviews. "Emily Rose" is forgettable at best.

This trailer's a rare one in my opinion. The background music, and everything that follows up to the end where she starts screaming, followed to a fade to black then the title fades in. The ending of the background music's a nice touch to it as well; it makes for a unique atmosphere of terror. :D

It seems like a remake of The exorcism of Emily Rose... Make something different. ¬_¬
audixv 3 years ago
Is not a remake, just a spinoff
The exorcism of Emily Rose was based on the same story as this film, the exorcism of Anneliese Michel.

its interesting how there are no effects put on her voice or possession-qualities in this trailer - i havent seen the film, but maybe this is like the opposite the film 'the exorcism of emily rose' in that this film portrays anneliese michel's so called possession as mental illness.

great movie. somebody should warn people that watching it, they're not going to watch a horror story though. I read some comments that don't fit under such a trailer, in my opinion.

a brilliant and harrowing film with one of the best central performances i've seen

i think The Exorcism of Emily Rose was closer to the actual course of events, after having read the book :/ but Requiem was still a good film.

This movie Sux so fucking hard that you cant even imagen how goofie it is.
Its more like Exorsicm for age 7 years old kids. ffs its Natzi drama, there is no long thung licking, no dark vocie that says FUCK ME FUCK ME.
And the Girl look like a dude with a giant nose...i would rather advise you all to buy a movie with donald duck ore Pluto.
If i may give it a point some where between 1-10 i would say minus 00, 0
Trust me its not worth the time and the money

yeah, i bought the dvd (requiem) earlier but i havent have the chances to see it. tbh, exorcism of emily rose scares me the most.
suicidexskeletons 4 years ago
Because they were both inspired by the Anneliese Michel story (aka Emily Rose).
blackmirrors 3 years ago
this movie is about possession and exorcism but not made to be scary... it's drama and based on true events.

anyone knows the name of the song in the trailer?

After reading the book, this movie really stinks. It portrays Anneliese Michel's mother as the cause of her 'possession' and Anneliese as a lunatic. Sandra Huller's movies are nasty gross, you ought to see her new one, 'madonnas'...I vomited almost! Yipes. I'll never see germany the same way, if at all.

oh wow...i want to see this...and what kinda scares me is this was based on a true story...
ainjelofdeath 5 years ago
It's based on the same story that "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is based on. Only it's more authentic to the actual story, and is a drama instead of a horror film. Also, it's an excellent film that received rave reviews. "Emily Rose" is forgettable at best.

I think this version is closer to the original case...the western version scores for the ghostly effects....thnx for sharing

I liked this movie. But it's hard to compare it to "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" since they're both different.
