Tom could really be an idiot. It was as if he didn't want Lennon to demystify the 'Beatle-thang', but Lennon went forward anyway. While he (Lennon) outlined the importance of getting laid, the part about his and George and Paul's genius got lost. What a loss! Their early songs were not mockery, but they became mockery later. The early stuff was more like a diary that American kids could relate to. But Snyder couldn't reflect on that because he was following a script. No deepness. Idiot.

Also I think Snyder does a great interview. He doesn't ask the usual shitty interview questions, he actually asks stuff that makes Lennon think and give his own views on, and it bounces between them like a conversation.

Good old Tom Snyder.  Most of his interviews he could've wrapped up in about 10 minutes. When John describes groupies and the perks of being a celebrity, anyone w/ an IQ over about 60 knew exactly what he meant. Tom belabors the point for another 15 minutes like he's trying to figure it all out. John must've been thinking: "Man, this guy's a little dense".
