I love this !!! This reminds me of my father-in-law and, who passed a few years ago and my husband who has Papa's favorite recliner and now he does the same thing , taking a little nap after gettin home from work and all the same things as in the song, lol, I know its about more than a chair but lovely songwriting ! My parents and his were all born in "31 too.
@ladiesrock83 Thank you so much for listening to this song about my dad. Hard tune to write...watching him live out his twilight years like he does. I do appreciate the comments very much. You are a nice person and i am happy we are now friends. Thank you Gina.
@onewomanandsomesongs Thank you so much for your great comments Janet. It is moments like this that makes the song writing ordeal worthwhile. Thank you so very much for listening.
@nidgetucker Hell Nidge, touchy ain't even close. My father is alive and kicking and I have been snubbed once by family already. Oh well, artistic expression is what it is. I am glad you liked it.
@TheEdMulrooneyShow Thank you for checking it out Ed and for the nice comment. By the way, I checked out Stan Rogers. He was a hell of a musician and songwriter. Thank you for cluing me in. Take care.
@JohnEFJr Thanks for stopping by John. wasn't easy writing it. Trying to express one's self isn't always easy in a public forum. Appreciate the comments friend.
Fortunately, I still have both of my parents. This is a nice reminder to appreciate the time I still have with them. Very well written song. Thank you.
@jatrichojas Thank you for your comments. Very much appreciated. My father is still alive. This song was written as an expression of how things are viewed in the present by sharing a little of the past. It was difficult for me. Thanks again.
It's always nice to hear a song about parents who worked hard all their lives and then became a song in all our hearts, because you shared that story. Very sweet dedication to your dad...nicely written!!
@146Johnny I am glad you liked it John. Wasn't really meant as a dedication, more of a present day expression. But whatever you get out of it is great. I enjoy your input. See you soon friend.
