Thumbs up if you want a remake of this game for 3DS, with more characters, graphics and bosses, or maybe a Super Mario RPG 2 (just wishing).

When I first played this back in the day, I shit myself hearing the epic music.

There is an easier way with no need of max lvl but it's a cheap one and a long one:

-Equip lazy shell (armor) and a cool amulet (those that nulls certains attacks) on someone to make that caracter a "tank".

-Enter the battle and do your best, probably the other two characters will die, but the "tank" will stand all the attacks of all the crystals and culex himself.

-Revive your party when the crystals run out of MP.

-Finish the battle =)

There's no fun in this way, but it's a 100% win.

I've fought this boss myself and used the exact characters shown in this video. Except that I got the Attack Scarf and Super Suit for Mario. The Combined power of the two will allow Mario to get the first attack. Really helped me in this battle. Took alot of time and aggravation to get the items. Not to mention i had to carry alot of Pick Me Ups. Pick Me Ups are the Phoenix Downs of this game.

@Hailstormful -- She has the Lazy Shell armor on. It negates "mortal blows", which is kinda like enemy special attacks. Plus it raises defense and special defense greatly. :)

It's basically impossible to finish the game without getting to level 16 or 17, maybe 18...I can't remember exactly. I went through the game a couple of times avoiding as many enemies as possible to make it more challenging. The trade-off is you have to rely on power-ups you win and find. I was able to beat Jinx and Culex somewhere between levels 13 and 15, but I had the Safety Ring and Super Suit. And I was obviously pretty good at the Super Jump. Jinx would have been unbeatable without it.

Heheh, I NEVER use Mushrooms after I get Peach in my party. I just bring some Pick Me Ups, a few other random items, and lots and lots of Maple Syrup. It proves more cost efficient than Max Mushrooms!
