Brilliant stuff, anybody else notice the similarity between Mick and Steve Tyler from Aerosmith? - both been hit by the same branch off the ugly tree me-thinks!
Na, I reckon there's a chick behind the scenes. Keef''s never sang that pure, and it's definitely not Bill! You can hear brass and steel drums on the tune but no sign of anyone but the main men.
@zallen21 you are probably right. the female backing vocal sounds like Kathi McDonald, who had one of the best voices in rock and roll 40 years ago. she is credited on 'All Down the LIne' on Exile on Main Street, on which the late Jimmy Miller, may he rest in peace, played percussion. he also played percussion on 'Loving Cup' according to the album credits. this was done in LA, the final dubs. Ms. McDonald, who sang with the great Leon Russell there, probably got called to sing by Mr. Miller.
This is great footage I have never seen before and I have been a complete Stones nut for 40 years. Thank you.

Funny--Mick has to Americanize the last syllable of "guitar" to make it rhyme with "start"!
Greta video. I've never seen this footage before. Thank you.

Who does the "female" sounding voice?
I hear it all through the album, is it the bass player?
sciencekiller7689 2 years ago
it's probably keith. he had a really high pitched voice back then.

I think its Keith. Has to be.

No, it's a female backup singer. They were (are) often uncredited, which is a shame because she ads as much to it as the guitars, IMO :)
The piano and saxes were pre-recorded here, they're playing and singing on top of a partial mix.
