How did you get the B&M shifter to work on your mustang? They're listed as only working on 99-00 Mustangs. Did you buy a certain one or did you have to do any fabricating? I really want to know this because I want one lol nice car man.
last question cause im gunna order it.. 1) u can change it to any knob on top, 2) there are 3 different ones. one 4 $142 150 and 199.. which one u get?
nice stang my 96 is gonna be pretty much the same setup. did the hi tech stage 2s fit no problem or did you have to get the valves machined down? just wondering cause a couple people are telling me ill have ptv issues installing hi tech stage 2s in my pi swapped 96. can you give me some input as to what you did? if you just dropped em in? degreed i assume? i would appreciate the info
Yup get the cams degreed but other then that no problems and no need to change the valve springs with the hi tech stage 2s. You will love these cams. Also I did not feel any lose of power down low like you get with a lot of other cams.
With the HiTech II, did you use a higher stall or stock stall with those cams? I'm getting this shifter this week hopefully, just curious with the stage II cams as well. :P
that sucks that your mustang is no more but what exactly did you do with the car like what mods did you put so u can put the shifter i have a 04 mach 1 and i want to put it but dont now or im how im what you call a beginner i need to now detail by detail pleas
If your mach 1 is automatic then you would have the same automatic transmission as my 01 GT did. No mods needed you just buy the B&M hammer shifter and install it. I had a shop install it so I can't tell you the details but he said it was not a hard install.
Yes it is. Thats what comes with the B&M shifter. Unfortunately this car was destroyed back in August when I was rear-ened. I now have a 2007 manual GT.
Thanks and yeah I loved the sound of this car. I wish I was not rear ended back in August. This car ended up being totaled. I now love the sound of my 07 manual GT. I have installed Borla stingers on my new mustang. It was five years of love with the one in this video before it was totaled.
@0SpyderScope A cam has to do with you engine, it opens and closes the valves. A stage part is a part that is usually aftermarket and high performance, there is stage I (stock) stage II which will perform better then stock and then there is stage III which is very high performance. Yours is most likely stage I if you bought it off the lot.
3200 RPM none locking stall converter, performance valve body B&M Hammer shifter and tranny cooler. At the time of this video it was just the stock transmission with a B&M Hammer shifter and tranny cooler
Nice Stang!! I just picked up those cams and a dss proMod long block. I only have about 50 mile on it so far but I have quite a bit of valvetrain noise. I heard of a few people having ptv with these cams even though Hitech swears u won't. Have you had any issues?
0:10 = awesome. I love the way SLP LM1's sound, yet the rasp gets annoying. Then the LM2's are just too quiet. These Magnapacks seem like they're right in the middle. Sounds great!
@V2P22 Well hey, if you like the way a ratchet shifter works, but like a manual, you could always buy the $27,500 LG Motorsports sequential 6 speed that's built for Vettes! It's nearly a bolt in replacement for the T-56 and TR-6060, and since the Cobras have a nearly identical T-56, it could fit in a Stang!
It's kind of humorous to me. I'm buying an 01-04 GT this winter, and only have 3,800 in the bank so far, but that trans alone is over 27 grand. LOL.
cool , i like it , i would like to see some vids of after the tune and the stall and shift kit though running hard. i wonder what i would sound like with a mac catback though.
It's an automatic. I have a B&M Hammer shifter so I can ratchet into 1st-3rd. There is an over drive button for 4th. Or If I don't want to shift I can put it in 3rd (drive) and let the transmission shift.
@dat504rob a dyno tune. go to a speedshop with a dynometer and they will tune the computer. get the most out of what you have and let the comp know what you have done
I have a question, I was reading about the Hammer Shifter and I saw that it needed to be modified to fit the 01-04 Mustangs. But I wasn't quite sure if it was correct. The person said they had to get a different style of ball because the ball on the shifter was different and couldn't hook up to the shifter cable. They also said the shifter cable was slightly too short to work. Did you run into these problems when you were installing it?
She put down 293 rwhp and 310 lb tq to the wheels on a mustang dyno. For those that want a comparison to how much crank hp and tq that equals, its around 350 hp and 372 Lb tq at the crank.
Is it just the shifter you need to buy or do you have to get some sort of shift kit too? I want to get that for my mustang. Sounds nice keep posting videos

Go for the valve body and stall converter first.

Yes its an automatic with a B&M hammer shifter, large transmission cooler, now a 3200rpm non locking converter and performance valve body.
scupking 1 year ago
Starting off in second like that is really hard on an automatic. 4.10s or not. I like the way it shifts though. Thats cool.
Still rather have a standard 5 speed.
