Are you sure this is John Denver? His voice sounds heavier, the timbre is darker. Maybe the speed was slowed down but this doesn't sound like Denver, though the vocal is almost identical (phrasing) apart from the timbre.

I recall hating this song (as a kid) and I don't think I ever actually listened to the words to it until now (maybe it was the visuals and the text or maybe it was a different state of mind in a different stage of life). My dad sang this to two of my friends who got married this past Saturday. It was really sweet; the bride's parents were crying oh so much. He sang it because it was sung at his wedding and it was also sung at the bride's parents' wedding. It was just really sweet and I really like this song.

On a strange note, as soon as we got in the car after the wedding, this song was playing on the radio. I think that's good luck.
