Like the music in the background..... You mentioned that you had a trick to remove the polish on the edge when sides would be glued on. Would like to know how you do it.
Thanks for your time.
Wish you posted more stuff. You seem like a great teacher.
Hi Sam, There are no rights or wrongs in this game. But coming from a furniture background I would never finish just one side of a piece of wood, and in my mine patience trumps efficiency when it comes to sound.
true, i learnd from sergei de jonge that if you polish the insides it may very well chage the tone you get in the end. it may produce a brighter tone due to the finish repelling vibration rather than a final sanded inside...
Thanks for your question. The reason I finish the inside is to stop the wood moving in differing humidities. Dry wood also sounds better than wet wood so my guitars are more stable and I think sound better for being finished on the inside.
i always kinda thought that it was necessary to seal the outside of the guitar for protection, but EQUALLY necessary to keep the interior untouched to allow the wood to breath and flex with temp. and humidity fluctuations. do any of your guitars have problems with action or staying into since they are effectively sealed both inside and out? thanks for reading!
hi taran, have you found any different tonal characteristics in your guitars that are polished on the inside as compaired one that's unfinished?

Beautiful work.I thought the same thing as melonhead. All the guitars i have are clean on the inside, because of the time involved to polish them??
