Seth's my favourite pre-promoted character. After getting stuck on the DS remake of the original thanks to Jagen I was reluctant to use Seth, but he proved helpful and loyal. Never let me down.

Still, if you do use seth during the endgame, he still does alright against Formortiis (but probably no better than a 20/20 eliwood versus Fire Dragon)

He does have alright growths, but for a pre-promote, he needs much more to be worthy to put into the final chapter. Not that you really need to watch who you put into the last chapter, give any old unit a sacred weapon and he is good against Fomortiis, they were so overpowered in this game.

I think, that Orson is kinda tragic character. First, he lost his beloved wife - that made him mad. Later, he was a mere puppet of Formortiis. It shows us, how dangerous feeling can be.

Oifaye is actually third. Less growth than Seth, though he starts off with better stats at level 15 (capping at 30), while Seth starts off at level 1 (capping at 20).

Seth will have generally better stats, a combined of about 118. While Oifaye ends up with 108~110 (forgot exactly where it falls into). Oifaye does end up with more hp, a 55 compared to Seth's 47. But considering the stats, I do not consider hp to be as important as the other stats, and so Seth is still 2nd.

What about Titania? Axes are pretty awesome in FE9, she had good growths for a prepromote(*cough*notincluding­wolfandzagaro*cough*). She can end up with decent stats. Her averages will all end up better than Seth, and the best Seth has is a tie in Defense(18.6) Titania owns him everywhere else. And she gets the most awesome weapons in the game.

umm almost every pre-promo paladin is better except isodora and zealot. SETH has HORRIBLE STATS

Other than the hp on the low side, he has one of the best stats growth in FE8.

Also, he flats out beat both version of Marcus as well. Hard Mode Percival is slightly better, but Seth should be second amongst the pre-promoted paladins, barring FE10 and the additional promotion. With a slightly low hp, again, but his other stats are very satisfactory.

FE6 HM Percival actually maxes out a few stats, which is rare among Pre-promoted units.

Oh yeah, and does anyone hate FEDS because the prepromotes don't even get great stats when you get them? (Particularly Minerva...she was great...)

ya seriously its because stats in ds depend solely on promotions, u get like 8 hp bonus and 5 or so str speed etc so when they come with 11 str and speed with a growth rate of almost nothing theyre useless

Mind you, the only prepromotes that were actually WORTH using for the entire game are Wolf and Sedgar. The others just suck.(Ok, maybe Wendell and Minerva helps a bit, then their growths start to own them)

@boym0n2 Random fact: His growths are better than (or equal to) Kyle's in EVERY CATEGEORY.

Franz barely edges him out in Spd and Lck.

Forde does the same with Spd replaced with Skl.

Seth's total growth is 325. NONE of the 3 cavaliers best him in total growth.(Kyle has 285, Forde has 300, Franz has 295)

Seth beats Amelia as well. Hard.(NO *AHEM* involved, you sick little youtubers)

theres tons of great prepromotes tho, igrene is incredible and so is louise, theyre twins with stats and growths really lol and same class :0 and u can make any prepromote good with some rng abuse.i just love igrene because female snipers my favorite and also echidna pwns and maxes skill str and speed every playthrough with 0 abuse!

I use louise too but i almost never uses archers because of warriors, magic and long range weapons.

Louise has incredible skill and speed and is likely to cap strength since it isnt high and shes not far from capping, but igrene omg her strength and hp is like 90 percent going to grow shes just like hawkeye and shes got a really unique sprite for fire emblem i love it

Igrene gets more HP but phails everywhere else in comparison to Louise. Bartre is full of fail anyway, so you would be better off with Echidna and Elphin.

nah all u need is a tad of rng abuse, ive maxed her strength and speed and got huge hp on her before with the slightest abuse. and shes a huge help when u need her but louise is better depending on how you do it.

If Seth uses Vidofnir, giving him a bonus of 5def Ike would do 15 dmg with Ragnell.

Seth would do 10 dmg if Ike uses Ragnell. (With Ragnell being a uber weapon anyway)

Seth has a max hp cap of 60 and Ike a max hp cap of 50. Seth needs 5 attacks to kill and Ike needs 4 attacks to kill Seth. I call it very close not 'way better'

PoR Ike is far superior situational wise though, ragnell's double range and Aether make him close to invincible in that game and actually useful whereas Seth was only one option with many alternatives, just like why some people prefer Paladin Amelia over General Amelia, her movement makes her far more useful in the story mode (General kicks paladin's ass once you get the possibillity of abusing boots though)

And RD Ike is in a completely different league.

Vidofnir is just as much a cheating weapon, well it's weaker but that's like saying it's unfair that Ross get's to use axes against Paladin Amelia: Weapons are just as much part of the character as their stats, especially Prf class weapons.

And with far superior I mean that while in PoR being able to charge in blindly is an achievement for that character, SS is so damn easy that anyone can do it which makes Ike far more valuable in PoR then Seth is in SS.

Vidofnir however has only 30 uses, that's why you should use sacred weapons wisely. ragnell however has, additionaly to it's ridiculous strenght a defense boost AND a range attack infinite uses.

I'm not really sure which is the easier game. RD or SS. They are both no challenge

So that's no argument, too. The point in this discussion is "who is stronger"? And arguments were that Ike has way better stats, but that's not true. They are similar.

Well, I stopped defending the claim that Ike was better statistically a while ago really.

PoR and SS are both easy but in SS's case it's "Does the game for you" easy while in PoR, you actually have to think about your steps in the final level, unless you want to have Tibarn/Giffca run wild of course.

If you want to make it fair, you have to give the characters weapons of ONE game.

So if Ike may use ragnell. Seth should use Wishblade. Easy maths:

Seth increases his damage by 7 and receives 5 more from Ike making:

17 dmg for Seth and 20 for Ike.

50:17= 3 attacks to kill Ike

60:20 = 3 attacks to kill Seth.

makes them equal. (Wishblade has range, too)

If you want to take weapons of SS make

Ike use Audhulma and Seth Vidofnir.

Ike does 15 dmg again and Seth 15 dmg, too.

Ike has 50 hp and Seth has 60.

Ike needing 4 attacks to kil lSeth and Seth needs 4 attacks as well. making them equal again

That's why I said, that Ike isn't "far" better. Of course he would win, since he is broken and Seth's growth rate isn't as good as Ikes. But still Ike isn't invincible.

Ike does 7 dmg to Seth and Seth does 5 dmg to Ike.

So Ike needs 9 attacks to kill and Seth needs 10 attacks to kill.
