I agree I think my FMS is caused by a sleep problem, I wake up after four hours every night and I think that this is the time that I should be going into stage four (Delta) sleep, thats the deep part of the sleep pattern where the body repairs and refreshes itself!
If you deprive people from sleep for long enough then they show symptoms of FMS.
I am a recovered fibromyalgic who left the medical profession to discover the cause and cure for this horrific disease after 15 years of failed treatments. I understand this illness completely from the inside and back out again. Symptoms are often mistaken as a cause and what can help does not cure. Please, do not give up and keep going. See my You Tube video "Curing Chronic Fibromyalgia - Choosing What Works" and my best wishes to you all!!!
Hey, You are probably on to something. I have had sleep problems since I was young and it got worse as time passed, by age 48 or so it all tumbled down further. I was sleep deprived, in constant pain and depressed. My life as I knew had considerabled changed. I had to leave my job as a lab tech, and have been tested and jabbed so many times.
I have had sleep problems as long as i can remember. Sleep got really bad during college and Fibro diagnoses by 24. I also had a really bad neck injury at 17 so who knows what caused what. I just to live a more productive life, not be in constant pain, have chronic headaches and a ton of other symptoms too. Wish I was Kansas City... I would think about doing this.
Having fibro I can tell you that it's the pain that causes lack of sleep, not visa-versa. I can't sleep because I can't get comfortable. Getting more sleep would not "cure" my fibro as that came first.
In pain no matter how much sleep I get means nothing. It's the quality of sleep that counts.

Good luck with your study though.
