  • so does anyone recommend this system? im thinking of getting one.

    please reply.

  • cool! it workz!

  • uk sucks it becuse of them that there are region locks on games!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you have to modify the cartridge slot to play super famicom games?

  • Wow twin is a piece of load

  • Wow dude, he has go go ackman... lol that musta been hard to get your hands on

  • sabeis si los juegos de supernintendo de españa funcionan en esa consola y las de nintendo.

  • oh wait, whaaaat?i thought snes gos on the top

  • DUUUUUUUUDE,SNES goes in the 16-bit,NES goes in 8-bit....if you didn't know, well NES only accepts some SNES,it has little "forwards" compadibility

  • you might wanna retry the DKC3 cart a couple of times, my NA DKC1 gives me that every so often and then after playing with the switch it works

  • European games dont work?

  • Is it a bitch to get the NES games out, the Retro Duo's have that problem, I hated it! Let me know neobrico!

  • how about to play duck hunt using super scope?

  • hey when we put a game in the thing thats a snes game it work but like resets by itself but when we disonnect the video it runs fully but how can we see the game whats the problem with this game pls help

  • ke buena consola tienes (great console you have)

  • I have a fc twin, it work great with sper nintendo games but is shit for nes games, I highly prefer my original nes over the fc twin. Anyway, it seem like only half of the nes game work on the fc twin

  • If you want to bypass the region lock, get the nes top loader, it plays anything

  • 1:00 - 1:02

    Hear that?

That's the POWER OF DONKEY KONG BABY!

  • they run on two separate slots and have a different setting to turn the NES slot on or the SNES slot on. what you said would do absolutely nothing.

  • Can it also play SNES PAL system ?

  • who's dumbass idea was it to hav region locks on games in the first place?

  • @thebiolizard to avoid piracy

  • @thebiolizard there is a reson. the old TV,s were difesent so there is NTSC and PAL. the NTSC systems cant run PAL because they didnt know how to do it at that time. and when they figured it out it was expencive. anyways.

  • @thebiolizard Good point.

  • 1:06 Screen of death! Or... something!

  • Are these things region free?

  • There is a way to eliminate that region lock thing. They put this lock because the game uses a different refresh rate (50Hz) than the american SNES (60Hz) and the games run slower.

You can add a swith to the unit that allows you to change from 60Hz to 50Hz. If you search on Google you can find instructions on how to do it.

  • You can't use Gaijin carts with your system?

  • problem???

  • For some reason, on mine, Super Famicom games don't fit in the slot.

  • The FC Twin didn't eliminate those plastic tabs that prevent Super Famicom games from being inserted. You would need to open up the system and cut or break off those two plastic tabs. Then Super Famicom games will be able to be inserted into the system.

  • Open up your system and unscrew the plate under the SFC cart slot

  • me gusta ver este video!

  • WOW there still a "region lock" to prevent PAL games. totally sucks!!

  • How do you solve the no screen problem?

  • Wait so does the FC Twin play Super Famicom games???

  • Yes, as you saw. On a NTSC SNES clone or a US SNES with the US tabs (things sticking up in the back of the cart slot) sawed off, you can play both US SNES and Japanese Super Famicom carts on the same SNES.

  • do all snes and nes games work on it? cuz super mario rpg has some kind of lock thingy on it and doesnt play on some systems like this. all i need to know is if super mario rpg works on it.

  • The same thing happened to this guy on Donkey Kong Country 3 at 1:05 .

  • what is up with that on 1:05

  • Its region locking. They havn't found a way past all of it yet...

  • i thought that was limitations of the emulation inside the fc twin.

  • There are some games that dont work on the system. The list of them is on Wikipedia.

  • @the16bitgamer150 Super Mario RPG DOES NOT work on this!

  • you son of a bitch!!! I envy you LOL

  • So what all does this play? SNES and what else?

  • snes and nes

  • and nes

  • Also does the fc twin require a adapter to play nes games,or do u just put the cartirage(incorrect) in.plz reply

  • You just stick the cartridge in like you would on a top loading NES or SNES console. No adapter required.

  • so donkey kong country 3 don't work on the fc twin, because i heard it does.

  • I wish for more cheese cookies also this system is good yes?

  • I got one of these off eBay. It is PERFECT! It works just fine, and stuff like the Super Gameboy work on it, too. It's pretty good, I use it to play all my NES and SNES games :)

  • im getting mine in a few days pays for rush service xd

  • Damn; i was supposed to get retroduo but my mom bought me a FC twin instead (My mom says that it's both the same thing).

  • I actually have an FC Twin myself, and I think its great.

  • I own an FCTwin too and was wondereing If I should buy Super Famicom (Japanese SNES games) for it. It seemed that in your video they worked fine on the FCTwin. Did you do anything special to make them work? Do all Super Faicom games work? I really would like to know, It would be much appreciated If you responded.

  • To make Super Famicom games working in the FC Twin, you have to remove 2 tabs in the cartridge slot, like you'd do on an original Super NES.

  • Wow, it's been a year since I posted that, and I did just what you said and it worked. Thanks! :D

  • Dude i could have sworn that i heard a zapping or ripping noise when u put donkey kong in. You should get a retro duo, retro duo plays european games, not like the fc twin that doesnt.

  • did u blow into the NES cartridge, Brico? I just bought an FC Twin and I got 2 NES games for it. . .and when I play my NES games on it, I have to blow into the cartridge. Give it a try.

  • It's said that it damages the cartridge so if your cartridge fails at some point, that could be the reason.

  • was in reply to kibjohn

  • Blowing into the cartridges doesn't seem to have any real adverse effect. I've been doing it for years whenever an NES game doesn't play.

  • I heard there is going to be an adapter to be able to play the nes games with nes controllers and light gun can someone please pm as soon as it comes out so i can buy it

  • I wish the people that made the FC Twin would make a controller adapter so that you could use the NES Zapper to play Duck Hunt.

  • I agree.

  • Better yet, how about their own version of the Zapper that will work with both NES and SNES games. I would call it the FC Blaster.

  • Dude I have to say, you got some great idea's. You could really make a difference lol. And yes a great idea :)

  • @batarang87 They have a light gun sold separately for the FC Twin.

  • @ToonLinkTalks I know, I got one off ebay for Christmas. But the damn thing doesn't work.

  • @batarang87 There is acually an FC Twin Light Gun that sells for about the same price a zpaaer does now

  • @VGA322 I know, I got one a few years ago but the damn thing doesn't work.

  • @batarang87 it says on wikipedia that they released a zapper specifically for the fc twin

  • @leppaberry I know I got one a few years ago, but the damn thing doesn't work.

  • @batarang87 they do, search on ebay

  • @averyhdavis I did end up getting a FC Twin light gun a few years ago, but the damn thing doesn't work.

  • There seems to be 3 different versions of the FC Twin. There's the white one pictured here, the silver/black one, & the all black one, which is the one I have. Unfortunately, certain games won't work properly. For example: Rendering Ranger R2, the game froze up on me when I finished a stage. Other SNES games work excellent, like Kirby Super Star, Super Metroid, & TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures. I guess it depends on which console you have as well as what kind of TV you play your games on.

  • anyone know if double dragon works i heard someone had a prob with it

  • the nes side sounded loud when inserted, almost like sumpin be broken an spit. is that why it didn't work?

  • i think because he had 2 cartridges inserted so the system couldn't read it

  • It doesn't really matter whether or not you have cartridges in both slots. I have game carts in both of my FC Twin slots, and both sides work as they should.

  • i was wondering hows the suface of the fc twin cause the retro duo looks to glossy; like the ps3 and might absorb scratches easily. i ask cause my ps3 is all messed up with scratches.

  • none glossy

  • My FC Twin plays my SNES games in black and white......is that something defective with the system? Or could it be the TV I'm playing it on? I need help!

  • How old is your tv?

  • Its actually not an old tv. It doesn't matter though I took it back and got a new one and apparently it was a problem with the FC Twin so the one I got now is all good.

  • LOL, I heard that problem a while ago too. Glad you have a working one.

  • Oh great the replying function didn't work damn you youtube I was replying to Connerhim's comment.

  • If you're playing American games on a European TV that doesn't support 60hz it can be explained. If that's the case you can buy some stuff to fix that.

  • awesome, and its pretty kool that you can use all types of SNES carts, and NES

  • i have one

  • if you want 100% US and imported capabilities GET THE ORIGINAL SNES DARN IT, cause neither the fc twin nor the retro duo will give you that.

  • GET THE RETRO DUO DARN IT !!!>:(

  • fc twin sucks!

nothing can replace the nes and snes!

  • i just got my fc twin today, despite wat every1 thinks the sound is perfect and there are no problems whatsoever with it. its fine and it definatly replaces a nes and snes

  • I agree with that!

  • How do you get the japanese super famicom cartridges to fit?

  • does the FC Twin have the plastic tabs that prevent japanese cartridges from fitting in the console? cause if that's the case all you need to do is remove the plastic

  • Okay, I just tested my SNES Smurfs game on the FC Twin using a slightly-modified Game Genie as a bridge. And guess what? It gives me the Smurfs copyright screen, then the language select screen, then the Infogrames logo screen, and then...the message that it's ONLY for PAL-compatible systems! ARRRRGGGGH!!! >:(

  • I also have a slightly modified game genie, maybe everyone should try all the games that don't work on the FC twin or retro duo (Mario RPG, Terranigma, castlevania 3 and others) and use the game genie as a bridge and see if they work on those consoles that way.

  • I wish I had responded to you much sooner. I believe the Smurfs SNES game was only released in Europe, and is an exclusive PAL title. Of course, it will lock out on a FC Twin console since its programmed for NTSC titles. I loaded a ROM for this game on a ZSENS emulator using the NTSC option and got the exact same thing you got. Ouch.

  • Part of why I hate Infogrames for not releasing the game stateside when it was being shown in an April 1996 issue of Nintendo Power.

  • Infogrames probably thought that game would not sell. I don't know the reason why it wasn't released. I saw a similar preview in EGM. You probably saw that in the "Pak Watch" section of the Nintendo Power. Keep in mind that back then, when a game is featured in there, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be released stateside. I remember the Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 combo cart was featured, and it was only released in Japan. I figured it would come out here. What a shame... :(

  • Funny, I couldn't even get a screen to appear when I plugged SNES Smurfs (a PAL-compatible game) into my FC Twin. I take it that the DKC2 game and the Mr. Nutz game are both PAL-compatible...?

  • could akumajou densetsu (I Think that's the name for castlevania 3 in japan) work on the FC Twin console with the use of a converter?

  • It should. I used a converter with my copy of the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 3, and I had no problem. Keep in mind that certain games won't work properly. (The 2 copies of Solstice for the NES that I have don't work on my console, the graphics are a little bit displaced.) So be careful. If your game still dosen't work, you'll have to resort to using a top-loading NES console, if you can find one.

  • looks great, but not all games will work, since they uses a very special securety chip.

eventrough tetris for the nes din,t work at all, i guess to first remove the snes cartride before putting nes games.

asswell the boosted nes and snes harware is steel amzing.

  • to the video maker (since you have inported games) or anyone who knows: do you know if Terranigma (european-english or australia version) works on the FC Twin console?

also, does castlevania 3 dracula's curse plays on the FC Twin?

  • i just bought the new Retro Duo to replace my fc twin. I had to play mario rpg and starfox again since i have them, and fc twin didnt play them. the retro duo plays them all, i was surprised when i found out, it also plays that donkey kong as well. it also has s video although i didnt hook it up by s video, but i guess its a nice option to have.

  • I have read that some FC Twins will play SMRPG and StarFox.

  • right , some do play smrpg and starfox, because some smrpg prints didnt have the same lockout as other smrpg carts. so it really depends on the cartridge version and when it was made. i did try a kirby superstar on the fc twin and that didnt work either, but worked on the retro. one things for sure though , is that for the fc twin, there are some versions floating around outside that dont play starfox and some do.. so its a risk.

  • pockyrocky: do you have any idea of the actual print model version or whatever of the super mario rpg that actually plays on the FC Twin ("because they don't have the lock out")?

  • you seem to know alot so let me ask you this:

Which one of the two [retro duo vs fc twin] makes the games closest to what you would see on an original SNES? [regarding graphics/special effects, audio, and ESPECIALLY ANY GLITCHES!!!]

ALso, compatibility is the number one concern for me. Which of the two has better compatibility with North American carts? Compatibility with euro carts is a plus; i don't care for japanese compatibility, since i don't know japanese...

  • Retro Duo is most accurate and plays American NES and SNES, European SNES, and Japanese Super Famicom. I own one (Retro Duo) and i personally played an FC Twin. Accuracy is Retro Duo. Sound is Retro Duo and Imports is Retro Duo. Do u need anything else?

  • Yeah, a GN Twin! :D

  • i need to know does the japanese nes work on it because i have an fc twin and im getting a japanese game off ebay and the reason the tennis game didnt work is because it takes an adaptor

  • Did you have to remove some plastic tabs in the cartridge slot to play those Japanese and European games?

  • also, any snes + genesis clones?

  • i heard that the snes sound capability is bad...

  • I own one of these and and its the other way around. There are minor color issues but other than that the game play is exactly the same as it is on a real SNES. The sound is different for NES games b/c most "famiclones" have a different sound chip than the original NES.

  • can you or anyone recommend me the best snes clone? I don't care for nes clones, I just want a snes clone with priority to:

    - excellent sound quality, almost like the original

    - excellent color palette, just like the original. it doesn't matter if colors are slightly off.

    - COMPATIBLE WITH 99% or 100% NTSC CARTS

    - MINIMAL GLITCHES OR MALFUNCTIONS

    - ACCURATELY DEPICTS FX CHIPS/MODE7/ETC EFFECTS

  • sounds like you might wanna try the retro duo. theres a video of it here in youtube , just type in retro duo. im quite happy since i got it 2 days ago.

  • i have it its great but made out of thin plastic (dont drop it)

  • I wouldn't recommend that to anybody. You all be better off getting a real SNES. Kirby Super Star won't even work on a FC Twin.

  • Hey! I'm coming from Canada (So maybe the game won't work). And I think that I'll buy a FC Twin 'cuz when I want to play NES games they often need 4,5 or even 10 minutes of reset, put in/out and frustation to work. I would like to know if the the blue(Sometimes it's other colors) screen problem at the beggening is still there with the FC Triw?

  • Clean your carts with qtips and rubbing alcohal.

  • I tried but it doesn't work.

  • Hm...

I dunno then. Maybe a hug will be sufficient?

  • A hug? sorry I speak French and English but my ENglish isn't at his best.

  • It is a sign of friendship.

  • Oh yeah I know what you mean but I don't think it could help! Lol!

  • But would you recomend me to buy it if I live in Canada? My Nes can read USA and Canada games so I guess it will be ok for the Nes part but the Snes?

  • I think this and the original SNES are region-lock free, and they both have these little tabs on the inside of the system you have to break off (not too damaging, seriously) to play games from Japan and stuff, but I think you'd be fine with USA and Canada games since this is NTSC and those two formats should be too.

  • COol I probably buy one. I tried everything but my Nes doesn't stop blinking (sorry if it's the wrong word)

  • That sounds accurate. Maybe, before you buy the system and use your games currently, you could clean your carts? Sounds like they are dirty (you probably blow in them, right?) ... Use rubbing alcohol and q-tips for the connectors on the carts until there is no dirt left, then give the system a try. Your current system may be dirty as well - you could try buying and replacing the connection pins inside the system.

  • I'll try. I will tell you if it worked. But I think it's the conenction pin which doesn't work really well. I opened my NES and some were a little bit dirty so I took a q-tip but it didn't seam to work. WIll try with alcohol next time.

  • try taking the other game out first...

  • i want one so bad i cant get any money

  • I just bought me one like 30 minutes ago. ^_^

    freakin' sweet! :P

Just I would rather have original.

But I don't have enough money to buy a SNES & NES console. :|

  • ha ha. On 1:13 you can see a cloud of dust come out of donkeykong 3

No te sabría decir bien...

  • PAL games like tennis works, 100% sure, others like battletoads almost hehe

    )

  • I don't think it would have mattered if he cleaned it or not. Both games that he tried that failed were PAL.

  • Hello. The contacts of the game was super clean... The problem is the machine that don't work with the Nes pal games... I don't Know if all fails but this machin don't play it...

  • oh, well no one told me that they were PAL games (some info for the youtube description perhaps?). I thought he was trying NTSC games on the NES side.

  • duh, clean the contacts on the "tennis" game with alcohol on a q-tip and try reinserting it, don't just sit there like a dumbass hitting reset. God, do you know anything about getting NES games to work?

  • Would you recommend the system? I'm thinking of getting one on eBay.

  • Hello. Yes it's a god machine but I prefer the originals...
