  • I have been feeling separated from God lately, and I have been praying for a spiritual intervention for weeks.

Today, on my way to college, I listened to this song. I started tearing up and my mom didn't notice.

That is just the way God works I guess. He breaks you down when you least expect it. It was all I thought about on my way to Humanities.

  • @echoalicia2011 His love is strong for us. When He looks at you He looks at you as if your the only creature. That How He looks at all of His children. Thats how great His love is for us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He wants you to know He was always with you even when you didn't feel Him, He was there and He always will be :)

  • You can just tell he was praying when he started playing this. :D

  • Jon is so good at writing music, even if he didn't even write most of this song! lol

  • 26 people dislike fun.. I feel sorry for them. lol

  • Beautiful ♪

  • Beautiful !!

  • a very touching and inspirational song

  • This Man has been so anointed. It is very inspiring to a young musician.

  • This song gets me to cry almost every time. :) God is so good! Even the first line gets me teary eyed. "Heavenly Father, You always amaze me!" He truly knows what we need and when we need it. His plan is perfect. Praise God!

  • Everytime I hear this song i remember the history of Zac Smith, God bless all his family... He's with Jesus now :)

  • God is so great :)

  • Sorry, I don't understand how someone that loves this song can not believe in God. You haven't even come CLOSE to experiencing love until you have an intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe! Nobody's love is as strong as His, hence the title of this song.

  • I don't understand how anyone who doesn't

  • Is it me or the back ground sound of this song is bad?

  • beauty

  • Check out Kathleen Claire, she's pretty great as well and had a sweet opportunity to play for Swtichfoot in Vienna! - - - kathleenclairemusic

  • Hey, stop the flame wars. Pay attention to the beauty of the music and not the ugly face of arguments.

  • @sXs0n4R how are u able to prove that. By saying that there isn't a god, u are saying that you know everything and that in everything, there is no God. But by knowing everythin(which you don't) u become a God. It is physically impossible to disprove the existance of God.

  • @sXs0n4R trollin like a champ. Get a life you prick.

  • just noticed the "sun" in the album artwork was most likely formed by Jon Foreman's coffee cup!

  • @etpetm yeah, but the tree's shadow makes no sense then

  • I love how he turned the The Lord's Prayer into a beautiful song!!

  • @TheGlazierC Not his song...

  • For the 25 people who dislike this song. I'm praying for you:DD

  • 25 poeple dont know how strong gods love is

  • @CallumE245 I wish.

  • @CallumE245 god bless you

  • Hi all, I put up my 1st cover which happened to be this song :]

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

  • I am in love with this song now

  • :D

  • I have a couple of celebrity heroes. This guy and Bear Grylls are my heroes. You're probably thinking, they're so different but they're really not.

  • @ThePhilliePhanatic How so?

  • @7beers read up on bear grylls. He is always supporting charity and doesn't back down from things he is scared of. Their morals are the same. go to beargryllscom and read his bio. It's some really crazy stuff that man has accomplished

  • beautiful

  • It's a wonderful worship music. It praised God the Father, the Son, and the H.S.

  • i dont believe in god but if it makes u write such beautiful music, then go on, believe! :P

  • I could work this. Big ups to foreman.

  • This is awesome. Love it :)

  • Praise The Lord always :)

  • simply amazing!!

  • Your love is strong!!!! i Love youthfront!! Praise the Lord!!!!

  • 23 people's love isn't strong... poor things!

  • thumbs up if you heard this song at Youthfront! =]

  • @dawnsteg I TEENSTAFF AT YOUTHFRONT!!

  • @beansarebetter Cool! Did you teen Staff week 7 2011 at West?

  • @dawnsteg AWW, noo!!! week 8 though! so close!!! thats soo close!

  • @chrisophilussteenhof Future of Forestry

  • Thumbs up if you think Starfield should do a concert with Jon Foreman <3

  • @Chrisophilus - You have to listen to Thrice! They are a mainstream band, but the lead singer, Dustin Kensrue, is a sold out believer and writes their lyrics. Not only do they spread truth, their musicianship is off the charts! They change their style with every record, so you might have to listen to a few of their albums to find one you like. Dustin also has a solo album that is pretty country, which I am not a fan of country music, but his writing and talent make it an incredible album.

  • @jamesaw86 Indeed. Thrice is pretty fantastic. I've been listening to them for about 6 years now. They and Switchfoot are my fav bands. I've not come across many people who know of them, yet. They are definitely underrated. Then again, so is our worship of God. We can never overrate him. Isn't that a comforting thought? No matter how extravagantly you praise Him, it's never ever going to come close to the Truth.

  • @chrisophilussteenhof Mat Kearney! He's pretty talented as he does acoustic, rhythmic, and even raps. His last couple of albums have received mainstream success yet he maintains solid lyrics and a unique style. His songs that involve rapping actually deliver his most objectively christian lyrics. You could summize that Mat Kearney's approach is similar to Switchfoot(or even Lifehouse); Create music that anyone can listen to allthewhile deliver truth.

    Check out MatkearneyVEVO or theassassin43.

  • @chrisophilussteenhof Try Starfield mate! :)

  • this is a good song the it show that god loves you

  • pretty good song, shame its about god :(

  • @skaterwhale1 whats wrong with that?

  • I got back from Young Life camp at Woodleaf in Challenge, California, and we sang this song and now I am addicted to this song and addicted to God! I've been Christian my whole life but I have never felt so Alive, so Loved, so Blessed, so Forgiven, and so Happy! I've looked for happiness in all the wrong places..all I know is I'm finally Home! Thank You God, See you soon Father :)... Amen, I'm in, All in

  • ya i k how it feels look up my god is awesome and its good 2 but i cant stop listening 2 this song

  • just got back from Dominican Republic on a mission trip, heard this song and fell in love.

  • I wanna kno what the 23 ppl that disliked this song were thinking

  • Had this song stuck in my head the whole way back home from woodleaf. I love this song, Tyson sang it beautifully.

  • Tyson made this song famous

  • I can't sleep. Have this song on repeat because it was stuck in my head. Reminds me of a happier time in my life. His love is strong.

  • I don't believe in god, but this song is absolutely beautiful and Jon Foreman truly understands to touch my soul with his words. He's amazing.

  • @MsGrunz This song is mostly scripture... I hope you come to believe in God someday. His Love truly is strong. There's no other way to put it :)

  • Wow this song melts my heat ... thank you Lord! I love how it is based on scripture...

  • @FloodGaming YES WOODLEAF!! EPIC WEEK =) Prisma I think we all fell in love with this song!

  • @micah960 im praying for you.

  • Tyson sings it way better but it's still a good song!

  • @Prismationable you also meet him at woodleaf

  • beautiful worship song. jon foreman is such a talented composer

  • This song is just plain awesome :)

  • 2:05 - 2:33

  • "your love is strong"

no matter how dirty you are. how unclean. how youve taken it all for granted, how youve done wrong time and time again, lied, cheated and stolen. God's love covers a multitude of sins. God's love gives hope where you think your situation is hopeless. This is what I've found to be true. This song rings true in that.

  • O.O i was like "SWITCHFOOT!?" awesome!!

  • the kingdom of the heavens is now advancing! :) isn't that exciting to witness?

  • @murielglass frik yea!!!

  • @a7x328 Get out of here...

  • who couldn't love this song??

  • @tealrainbowparade i know, right?

  • @tealrainbowparade an atheist.

  • @radicalraychel Like myself, he sounds like John Mayer on a bible kick

  • @yojoe1221 Even though I don't believe in god, I do love Jon Foreman haha. I just felt it was the appropriate answer :P.

  • @tealrainbowparade people that dont appreciate music or the heart this guy has for God. lol i guess you could say 'christians' that think God is picky about worship. as much as i wish sometimes, it's not a matter of good music, but the heart.

  • @Absolute258 dude, yes. we are just worshiping ourselves if we didn't have heart (To god) when we sing.

    "why didn't feel anything?"

    ".... is this about you?"

  • @tealrainbowparade Haters :P

  • @tealrainbowparade i guess the person who press the dislike button.. but who would??

  • Comment removed

  • 19 people haven't felt love :(

  • @vegan4Christ08 and @tallliza, thank you for giving me clarity on Christianity. :)

  • Honestly What An amazin Song.

  • I'm glad he lives his life for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as I do.

  • I don't know how to play this song without crying.

  • Alright everyone, i cant find the notes that the violin plays during the chorus and i really need it for my youth group band. Ill probably have to figure it out by myself but it would mean alot if you could tell me the violin notes of the chorus :))))

  • religion killed jesus, i have no religion. im a child of god and a servant of christ

  • I am gonna try out for singer for my youth group, should i sing this song or, Amazing Grace?

  • This song. Amazing Grace is too done, too many versions. Yes a beautiful song, but you'd have to do extraordinarily well to stand out. this song is soothing, biblical, and more unique, newer.

  • This religious debating has no place. God calls us to encourage; to come together as one body. God calls us to bring peace and compassion, not to quarrel over which interpretation of his word is more accurate.

"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12:13

So please. Enjoy the song. Celebrate what God has done for us, and set aside your differences.

  • @LacrosseCraze Religious debating has a place, it encourages free thought and discovery. I for one think that even things as sacred to me and you like this song should be openly debated in the comments section.

  • This is so beautiful and inspiring! I love his voice and the fact that he has a heart for God that really shows in his solo stuff.

  • Sometimes it bugs me when people go on good videos ( like this one) and spark an arguement with the majority of people who like the video

  • Hey! No biggie...That's just another 17 people that believe disliking good music is a condition of their salvation.

  • Great lyrics!

  • Jon Foreman's songs are so beautiful.

  • who would dislike this?!?! i love this song with a passion x10!!!

  • Surely goodness will follow me, in the house of God forever

  • how could someone dislike this video?

  • This is my favorite song to blast loudly in my room!

  • God has gone out of His way to reveal his plans to us, including salvation and a standard of morality that benefits all mankind. The truth of God can be known. His very nature involves the desire to reveal Himself to us and he loves to communicate with us. Jesus says "A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign" Only a morally corrupt generation would reject all the revelation God has already provided but still demand miracles. We think temporal not eternal to our fate.

  • droptozro - it may be true that an atheist knows more about God than some professing Christians. However, the atheist or skeptic presume there is no God and believes we live in a "closed system" in which nothing supernatural exists all while claiming that he is "fair and open minded". He is not debating the Christian faith from a position of knowledge or evidence but from presupposed assumptions often a reflection of his heart and not his mind. Demons see the evidence but are against it too.

  • @alleyhse

Oh agreed. I was just trying to point him out to why he should respect and be glad people speak with him--even the rare atheist understands the full consistency of Christianity at times, despite that most professing Christians do not. After a certain degree, I just tell people to really think through their views tho... I used to be a nihilist heading for infinite skepticism consistency, it's impossible, one cannot deny their nature being made in His image consistently.

  • Crimes committed in the name of this god of love> The conquistadors, The Thirty Years War, the Inquisition, witch-hunts, the history of the slave trade in the West, the plunder and destruction of Native cultures in the Americas and elsewhere, the real history behind the pogroms against Jewry in the Middle-Ages and later Eastern Europe, The publication of the worst racist antisemitic book( used by the Nazis to justify the Holocaust. The invention of the worst torture tools ever. etc etc.

  • @tallliza

Crimes committed today still in the name of atheistic evolution---daily murder of hundreds of thousands of aborted fetus' to this day, it's in the 60 millions now and still counting. Hitler did not express true Christianity also, if you've read a drop of the NT, you would know that... he was a consistent atheist propagating Catholicism, he removed "sub human" species in his mind.

this is not an argument either way... it is the people's fault... not God, He made it perfect.

  • @droptozro It just shows that the followers of this god of love, are all but LOVING...... Society dictates what is morally acceptable and what is not. Governments elected by the people decided that abortion is no crime. Stop rambling about it. If you don`t like it change the government. What has Hitler to do with the assertion, that there can be no loving god ?

  • @tallliza

If society dictates it, there is no morality, only logical fallacies and opinions. Live by what you claim, don't be a hypocrite. No longer state anything "is wrong/right" morally. You're pulling from a standard, and your own made up one is no standard.

You claimed the Nazi's used the Bible, and that's true... Hitler used it for propaganda.

It's not my job to change the government, if we spread and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it will change on it's own.

  • @droptozro Governments set the standard what is right or wrong. Nobody else.

if we spread and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it will change on it's own.--- Well if my memory is right abortion has been legal in he US for a few decades. I don`t see any change happening on it`s own.

  • @tallliza

"Governments set the standard what is right or wrong. Nobody else." --k, in that consistency again, it's a societal consensus--which is a logical fallacy. If the government decides rape is "good" in the future, would you follow?

"I don't see change happening on it's own"---correct again, most people sleeping in church buildings dont actually read their Bible nor actually apply Jesus' teachings to their lives, this is why. It's sad that outsiders recognize it, those "inside" don't

  • @droptozro . If the government decides rape is "good" in the future, would you follow? If you claim absolute moral standards, where do they come from ? In what book can you find them ?

That is theoretical nonsense Wait, no ,that happens only in the bible. If god commands you to commit a crime, will you do it ?( 911 !!!!!!)

  • @tallliza but that it is impossible for God to either do some thing wrong or tell us to do something wrong. The law is Gods nature and he cant go against it. 9/11 was muslums because there belief says that they could be rejected by there God and that the only sure way to go to heave is to die a marter

  • @hilgathor2 I'm sorry if I'm sounding like I'm arguing but 9/11 wasn't from Muslims. plenty of Muslims died on 9/11. it was from Al-Queda, a terrorist group

  • @ryanmacdaddy1000 yes you're right it was caused by Al Queda but that was an Islamic group.. so yeah it was Muslims.

  • @courtyy117 but you shouldn't generalize a religion with a terrorist group. its unfair. Al Queda is a load of crazy. but to generalize all Muslims into that group isn't fair to those who don't hold the same values as that group.

  • @ryanmacdaddy1000 The Al- Queda are Muslims that follow there bible literary

  • @tallliza

Actually talliza, if you get the chance, search on youtube for "the atheist interview full"---you can listen to it all if you like, but it's long, but the first 15-20 minutes will do to show that an atheist understands the Bible better than most professing Christians. A lot of the church believes that the teachings of Jesus are impossible, they believe it's all just to look at and read--but it's meant to be lived out, to separate ourselves as those who uphold God's righteousness.

  • tallliza - Since the Christians in history were not sinless, the United States is not sinless, God should be mocked right? Oh and the United States should be destroyed too right? It looks like you are the perfect skeptic lining up all the crapola you can to fit your presupposition of errors. You are truly an intellectual bible illiterate in the worst case.

  • @alleyhse God should be mocked right? If the truth is mockery, so be it.

all the crapola you can to fit your presupposition of errors. .... Why don`t you try to refute ... al that crapola... You are truly an intellectual bible illiterate in the worst case.--- show me your bible knowledge. Genius.

  • @tallliza Yes, it is unfortunate and sickening that people would claim the name of God and do these horrible things. However, just because these people claimed His name, that does not imply that God was supportive of their heinous acts. It saddens me that people, even today, claim to be Christians but do not love their neighbors. As Jesus Himself said, this is the second most important commandment, that we should love others. We are to live so that others can see Christ through us!

  • @vegan4Christ08 Nice considerations. however they are not based on reality. Chtistians have committed the most hinous crimes, just like any heathen or pagan, or whatever you call them. Religion changes very little. If christianity were the truth, it would stand out as a beacon of morality, love, compassion etc. It would change the world.. But it doesn`t.

  • @tallliza You are absolutely right! Religion does change very little. Thankfully, true Christianity isn't a religion, but a relationship with the loving, holy God through the person of Jesus. As I see missionaries carry Christ's love to others and the everyday person who allows Christ to shine through his/her life, I am seeing the hearts of many people changed. I cannot speak for everyone, but Christ has certainly changed my world, and He changes the hearts and lives of all who come to Him.

  • @vegan4Christ08 Is the world a better place, because we had christianity for 2.000 years. I doubt it.

  • @tallliza No doubt, men and women have committed hinous crimes in the name of religion. There's plenty of failure to witness. Follower's of Christ are no less flawed then those who don't follow. I'd like to apologize on behalf of those who claim Christianity for our hypocrisy. May God's morality, love and compassion find you, regardless of our failure to show it to you. God's victories are small, and change is slow.

  • @TruthisFact ;;; See my comment above enumerating a few of the crimes against humanity committed by the people who were supposed to promote love. The christian religion doesn`t stand out as a beacon of morality.

  • @tallliza the religion does show morality but the followers don't or rather God does and neither the religion nor the followers show morality

  • I weep every time I hear this beautiful song.

    Your love is strong.....

  • Jon is a genius and my musical hero.

  • I love God so much. I was listening to Pandora Radio and after several songs of Linkin Park and Third Eye Blind, this song came on. I started crying. I'm going through one of the suckiest times ever right now. I swear God played this song for me. I know that's crazy, but I believe it. God is amazing. He has a beautiful plan for everyone and everything. He has a strong hold on my heart and I hope he never let's go. I love this song. His love is strong.

  • How can there be 17 dislikes? There should be 0

  • LOL someone in I know is named jon foreman and his name is spelled just like that lol and I sorta like him XD but anyways great song.

  • jon foreman originally wrote the song, robbie seay's version is a cover of his.

    but yeah, both are good.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey,

Robbie Seay Band did a version of this song, its really good.

Did Jon cover this from them, or did they cover this from him?

    I love both versions

  • Your love is indeed strong, oh Lord. May You pour it out on me and everyone else. Amen.

  • In our humble nature dear Lord, we thank you as you preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. It is not me, but you, dear Lord that holds all my life in your most precious hands. I know the meek shall inherit the earth, but help us to do so and save lives for Your Name, in the process. Greatly beholden to this music and message. Thank you.

  • I got home from church and felt empty. I wanted a purpose and i wanted understanding. I was home alone and decided to not play videogames or use the computer and just sat down with my guitar and bible. I searched for a good worship song to play for God and found this song. Ive been playing this song and talking to him for the past 3 hours and Ive never felt this much pure joy in my whole life. One day I must meet Jon and tell him that through him, I truly found God. Sorry for the long comment :)

  • @micah960 That's almost the same story I had with switchfoot. I was near my own suicide, when a friend of mine recommended a switchfoot concert to me. I hated them, but then we got to meet them, I heard their music and something in me completely changed. That was in 2004, and still to this day I don't go a day without listening to them, I owe them my life. And for showing me to God.

  • @micah960 while Jon Foreman is a great guy, God found you.

  • dude u just inspired me to do the same :) cheers man!

  • @micah960 keep searching Him seeking Him , REMAINING in Him most importantly <-- John 15 :) encourage you to read it. keep meditating on God's word, being open to what it is He wants of you and of the believers around you. Keep walking in the light, putting to death the evil desires and sins of the flesh and of your old self, and seek Him :)

also, put your faith in Jesus and not emotions (not saying you did back them, just an encouragement) :) take care!!!

  • @XBlurzX I agree completely:) Ive been involved a lot more in my church, im doing a missions trip over all of spring break going up to mexico. God trully works through anything!

  • @micah960 I thought you werent going to use the computer....?

  • @micah960 Keep seeking Jesus Christ. His love is strong. Paul described Him in 2 Corinthians as "the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort". He longs for us to ask for all of His comfort, which is more than we know. He wants a closer relationship with you, one you or I could never dream up. He is like a roommate, moving in with us like He will if we ask. I am such a terrible friend to Him, and He does take it personally, but He is Faithful when we are not.

  • @micah960 God bless you.

  • @micah960 It is awesome when that happens. Honestly that is the way that God brought be back to him. Sitting in my room while listening to music and having the words touch me and talking to him and seeing Him in his true being. A God who loves me for who I am even though I have imperfections, he takes me in any ways, and the pure joy that comes out of that is so great and it will never go away. His love is truly strong.

  • @firstclasscotastrafy Yeah man it truly is, thats the god that rarely people see. Hes a god that wants a relationship with us, and loves us for who we are, and forgives us for whatever wrongs we have done. He works through all of us for his glory.

  • Toooooooooooo true :-). Many thanks for the share Trish :-D X. Many thanks jokerman :-). World << in the 'Mercy' of our King 'God bless'

  • "Our God in heaven hallowed be Thy name above all other names. Give us this day our daily bread forgive us wicked sinners."

  • it's so hard to give your life fully to Jesus, to trust Him. i struggle with that every day. but God is stronger than me, He never stumbles. i know that he has placed me where i am, because that is exactly where He wants me to be. no matter how lonely, or unwanted i feel... i know those thoughts are not from Him. i know that He is the only one that can make me whole again.
