It doesn't matter if they sound similar, I don't understand why everyone's whining about it. Yes, I think Within Temptation is better than Forever Slave. Yes, they are more or less the same genre of music. Yes, the two do sound similar. But holy geez, CALM DOWN, PEOPLE! :\

And just leave Evanescence out of this. They sound NOTHING alike.

I think both of them are good. Maybe Forever Slave is influenced by WT. I admit that the two songs are similar, but at the same time they're two different songs, because of the instruments that sound. If you really want to criticise Forever Slave, please, do it at your home, not here. It's a good band.

Evanescence isn't even metal. Listen to some Mozart and than play My Immortal and your see that are are just as bad at ripping people off as Forever Slave. Btw dumb ass WT was form in 96 Evanescence didn't form until 98 when WT released their second cd. Plus WT is Symphonic Metal and Evaenescence is Akternative Rock thier nothing alike.

Have somebody actually listen to the full version of Afterlife? The only similar thing between these two songs are 4 seconds of the instrumental at the beginning of the songs. I don't think that 4 seconds of similarities are enough to say that they have stolen a song.

Afterlife and deceiver are NOT the same within and evanescence are NOT The same forever slave has its own style so a few cords are similar why does EVERYONE ATTACK female fronted rock and metal so much trying to make them all out to be the same its not.

i couldn't really tell the similarities. okay i am a fan of both bands but i couldn't really hear the smilarities between the two. i mean yea the whole opera high pitched ahh's but that was it, they aren't really similar, obviously in Afterlife the AHH'S dont go on for a long time unlike Deceiver of Fools it goes on without words

Yes, they are similar. But in 'Afterlife', the guitar is a lot more defined. The vocals aren't THAT similar. I think you are freaking out about a little thing. I personally like both bands. But that's my opinion.

The songs are similar but there's no way you could say that one is stolen from another. Come on, these are both bands in the same genre who are from the same region and have been featured in the same shows. No doubt WT has influenced up and coming bands from forever slave, but just because ine song may remond you of another is not copyright infringement. If that's the case, half of all gothic metal is ripped off from Theatre of Tragedy.

I understand what you're saying..I just think they sound way to much like each other for Afterlife to have not been stolen from Deceiver of Fools. Maybe not the "ooh"'s, but definitely the music.
