the godfather, goodfellas, and bronx tale are great because they are directed by Italians. Boyz in the hood and menace to society are great because they are directed by blacks. This movie, walk proud, boulevard nights, and colors suck because they're directed by gabachos that don't know a damn thing about life in the barrio. James Olmos got it right in American Me. Ernie, Popeye, and Miklo are some of the worst gangster actors on film.

The best part of this movie is when ernie orders machete to whack miklo and popeye because he suspects they are undercover cops. Machete finds them eating a can of juanita's menudo and splits their skulls and then finishes eating their menudo while he fantasizes about miklo's disgusting mom. Mas puta que la chingada.
