the defenses used to suck back then. they could get away with dirtier stuff on occasion, but on most plays, the d was weak. imagine any of the current superstars running at that soft d.
@antoniorossiz it was because of the "dirty" plays on D(like the late 80"s/early 90's Pistons & 90's Knicks) that made the defense harder than today's NBA. MJ in this & other videos makes the D look weak, he is that great. FACT
@WilsonT011 MJ WAS great, but I disagree. Defenses are a lot more sophisticated now. It's fashionable to laud the defense of the 80's, but there is a reason all the teams scored way above 100 a game and it was common to have guards shooting at 50% or higher. It's not just because they were better shooters. Defense wasn't what it is now. Just because the refs turned their eye to a few VERY dirty plays, doesn't mean the overall D was great.
DANNY FAGGETY SUCK ASS !!! NBA shouldve send him abroad instead.....or banned his gay ass for his lack of skill ....he was picked by the Clippers but turned it down and ask to be traded cuz he thinks the Clippers is not the team that would win anything but thats true and so is he....and for hitting Jordan in face intentionally during the '92 playoffs so I hope he ends regretting all those mistakes he's made.
and yet Ferry STILL back pedalled like a sissy. He sucker punched him. That's nothing to brag about. Jordan said he didn't throw back was because he realized he would get ejected if he did.
Now imagine "this" MJ in a league that "currently" has a def 3-sec rule in place, which has opened up the lanes more so than at ANY point in history & a Anti hand checking rule that "restricts" physical contact on the perimeter, which means he'd "consistently" get off "cleaner" looks at the basket LOL!!
If people thought he was scary from 1986-92, just imagine seeing him a league, where the rules have been added to FAVOR & accomodate his position & you literally couldn't tough him LOL!!
you look at MJ dunk like this & you suddenly realize how many average dunks filled up 1-10 top 10 dunks positions on MJ DVD releases .
Its really a laughting matter.
Just feel the degree of difficulty here just to complete the dunk. 2 guys bumping im in mid air & MJ didn't even loose artistry one bit in desperate attempt to complete the dunk. Thats beyond remarkable.
LOL Look at the Cleveland bench's reaction after he completes the dunk. Insane jam. Check the amount of contact he took by two guys (one swipe across the face and another basically clothesline across the neck/head) and he still extended and powered it through. Amazing.

@pheeeel17 Yeah, it looks like they want to stand up and cheer and then they suddenly remember Jordan plays for the other team

I haven't seen this play in 10 years.
Classic Jordan. Blows by Ehlo like he isn't even there and then just goes right through the contact.

I'ts a shame some people only see what they show on espn...i feel for them..lol
shermin23 2 years ago 5
I heard Danny Ferry needed 6 months of therapy to get over this play.
I like how the guy on Cleveland's bench is about to jump up and cheer, but quickly composes himself.

The times that I have seen this in highlight videos, it's always from that last angle which doesn't do it justice.

One of MJ's greatest dunks EVER!! i know how cliche that sounds but it truly is this dunk was ridicolous. MJ's athletic prime is impeccable

Awesome, was this before or after the game when he almost punched Ferry? If it was after I can see why Danny swung on Jordan
How embarassing
jeditwinz 2 years ago 3
No Danny punched him in a game in the 92 playoffs (they took down that video!). This was the 91 season :)
airjordan1585 2 years ago
Cool.
jeditwinz 2 years ago
This is one of MJ's best dunks...and yet nowhere to be seen on any of his official highlight videos.
btw, you sure this is '92 and not '91? I don't remember MJ wearing the red arm band in '92.
SPMJ 2 years ago
Maybe they ran out of room, he had so many. Check out the players on the Cleveland bench.
jeditwinz 2 years ago
Yes this is definitely 91....late in the 91 season I believe. And I too love the reaction on the Cleveland bench its hilarious

Oh haha yea my mistake, I read your post wrong, and I put 92 on the description....I'll change it
