Good safety tip, however m8 if your going from rifle to pistol its because your rifle has either one ran out of rounds or two had a stoppage in which case the safety catch is irrelevant, Also a top tip if firing any assault rifle and it still has rounds in the mag and chamber dont switch to a pistiol they are shit past 20 meters if that. The only reason why you would transition from rilfe to pistol is that you are out of rounds in the rifle and the weapon will not go to safe with the bolt to the rear. Also in a combat situation you should not be wasting time going to safe. Be in a real firefight and try to remember to safe your weapon. It will not happen.

The CORECT way to switch to you side arm (for AKs without sling ONLY) is to throw it on the ground and grab your sidearm in the way that was shown here.
Pistol is for emergency. If you waste time flicking the safety on your rifle, you might lose time to draw your sidearm in a time critical situation. If you are relying just on your rifle and your life revolves around it than that's different. I wasnt issued a side arm in the Infantry. Am I wrong or what?

You can see the "strange" hand movement prior to dropping the firearm where he moves his hand up the grip and "pinches" it, that's because going from fire to safe on a M16 / M4 / C7 / AR is a finger stretch for most people using your thumb, unless your hands are huge.
Watch the video again, you'll see it. He safeties the pistol too at the end of each segment.

I kind of disagree with Mattnificent, better to get in the habit of safetying your weapon when not in use anyways, and when it becomes second nature it's only a half-second extra time - no reason not to, really!
first, go watch the video again and look closer he did put it on safe before he switched. and second, if you are being shot at and your weapon jams you are more likely to get shot by the guy shooting at you while you try and put the safety on so your empty or malfunctioning gun doesn't magically start working again and blow your nuts off.

That transition should happen after an empty mag or malfunction. I agree with you if you want to do a drill like that down load your mag to 2-5 rds fire them and then once the primary weapon is empty then transition to side arm.

I kind of disagree with Mattnificent, better to get in the habit of safetying your weapon when not in use anyways, and when it becomes second nature it's only a half-second extra time - no reason not to, really!

first, go watch the video again and look closer he did put it on safe before he switched. and second, if you are being shot at and your weapon jams you are more likely to get shot by the guy shooting at you while you try and put the safety on so your empty or malfunctioning gun doesn't magically start working again and blow your nuts off.

That transition should happen after an empty mag or malfunction. I agree with you if you want to do a drill like that down load your mag to 2-5 rds fire them and then once the primary weapon is empty then transition to side arm.

whats with the mask and gloves? and i didnt see you switch off the safety of your handgun...oh right its unfuckingnecessary for either weapon during transition. you transition because your spent or mafluctioned in your rifle, and my first concern would be the fucking haji about to shoot me rather than putting my rifle on safe before transitioning

so sick of seeing all the arm chair ninjas who think they know what they are talking about. From an experienced operator, "There is no wrong way to do something as long as it is safe, it acomplishes the mission, and is tactically sound and makes sense." All of you quit making videos saying somone is wrong for doing something a certain way unless it doesnt have those above factors. The only real wrong way to do something is the way that gets you killed.

I deal with my operators when I show them a technique that isn't "range safe"...guess what sunshine?...combat isn't safe...

Now I'm no rocket scientist BUT wouldnt not putting your rifles safety on during a transition cause a NON-safe situation.. just saying..
