I've been listening to this since it came out and it's getting better and better. FRESHER and FRESHER my friends. Before it's time and ahead forever. Are these epics the best out there? I would have to say yes! Uh huh!....... Yes fer shur... Tman!...
I'm the only teenager of my city who listen to prog rock. Sadly because prog rock is the best music style there is. So much feeling... the moods... the way they play... Briljant, can't find a prog band where I can play in around in my neighbourhood, sadly enough... I just like prog rock and would like to make some music myself... But well, every one is just like Kings of Leon or Coldplay. That doesn't even come close to prog... Luckely, Morse gives a concert in Holland. Only, I can't go...GRRR
@JewLoco honestly u people cant stop talking about justin beiber and using those comments that complain about how many dislikes are on a video! just shut up with them and enjoy the music seriously!
@Coby50 Yes,he is really brilliant, i was asking "where is Daniel Gildenlow?" cause someone below say that portnoy, morse, stolt and trewevas are ones of the greatest progressive musicians and then i said "DANIEL GILDENLOW ROCKS, WHY HE IS NOT IN THE LIST?JUST BECAUSE IN THIS PROJECT IS ONLY A BACK UP MUSICIAN???"
Bien Hecho!!!!!
Alright I'm here to argue for the the Christians since it seems none of my brother's in faith are putting up good arguments. Logically there is a God message me if you want to argue ( I probably just signed my death by stubborn span mail sentence). Also many outside sources reference Jesus, the bible isn't full of fiction, nothing has ever historically contradicted it. I expected there to be heavy infighting on a christian/prog video. Nice bass.
My inspiration to play music isn't God, but there are many people that God is their inspirator. If we want to be complete musicians, we have to start first to understand differents thoughts and faiths. Whatever Mike rules!.
holy crap I never realized how good of a bassist Pete Trewavas is... ive really been getting into marillion lately. Misplaced Childhood is amazing! I need to buy some Transatlantic ASAP
Sorry - but there are just too many musicians for whom God is their inspiration - including me. There will always be music in honor of the Creator (even if I have to write it myself)!
every man is free to find and feel in music wathever he wants, but if we take a look in te past, music has always been connected to spiritual things like worship of gods or nature since the beginning of human existence. Of course music it's not only about that, it's a veichle of any kind of messages to the human soul, but i think it will always be related also to spiritual quests, and there is where personal faith influence (not religion) will always play a role.
Well that's simply not true. Music is an evolutionary byproduct of the fact that people can make sense of certain things over other things (ie. peoples voices over Noise etc). Music is a very pure form of tones, it "hyperstimulates" the parts of the cortex in the brain used for making sense of those sounds. So it's origin has nothing to do with spirituality. People are inspired by faith/religion in all art forms. That's one of the upsides to religion IMO. I am an atheist but love this music!
Why, some of the greatest works of not just music but art were inspired by various faiths. If all art were devoid of faith it would look suprisingly robotic and communist like. On the other extreme if everything was faith based it would be chaotic and impossible to comprehend.
Accept.. accept that there is no fucking god in heaven who watches over you. Think logical, God is in YOU, it's just your faith. The bible is only a collection of moralic rules (and that's good) which tells them in a fictional way.. It is NOT to be taken literally
Utter nonsense. WITH Jesus there is hatred and bigotry over their interpretation of a man who, let's face it, probably didn't even exist in the first place.
Jesus or not, his "teachings" (or whatever you want to call it) was probably a good thing. It brought morals to what is told were a bunch of assholes.
religion can start a war, but don't forget it keeps many people in their place too.
if you listen to the flower kings, you'll noticed that Roine does the "rushed phrasing" on his vocals a lot for variation. However, the band normally plays at the same speed regardless of the vocals, so it works out. Obviously instead of giving Roine room to do his thing the band just sped up.
Besides, most pop groups couldn't even pull off a song like this nowadays so...
Roine is a musical genius. You are on crack haha! He's been around the longest out of all of these guys too! Roine surely wrote the vocal part, so it's basically his writing. Each member is a key component to this group.
Perhaps, but it's not because he isn't awesome... I think he just doesn't want people to see how much Transatlantic owns The Flower Kings. :P Nah... whatever, I dunno. His style is much looser than Neal Morse's, Neal's solos are usually really tight and perfect, whereas Roine kind of just let's it flow.
Actually Roine was the main writer for this song. So saying he should't be there was just a tad bit silly. Remove Roine and you remove the song. I personally like transatlantic just as they are. Every person doing their bit just perfectly. Just perfectly perfect. Wouldn't want it any other way...

The world would be far better WITHOUT Jesus...who probably never existed, but the myth of the man poisons society every day.
Either way, you should refrain from proclaiming Jesus, you just sound warped and a bit desperate.

Most groups, period, couldn't pull off a song like this, no matter how hard they would try :)
flashchrome 2 years ago 4
And I guess they still can't since this is a cover.
blackplastic7 2 years ago
Really? So, you say that Roine and the rest of transatlantic did a cover? And the original was written and performed by... whom?
flashchrome 2 years ago
My bad, In Held Twas I was the cover song. Originally by Procol Harum.
So yes, Roine and the rest of transatlantic did a cover, just not this song in paticular.
