Plus Iran has many sophisticated weapons thanks to China and Russia sharing technology. Iraq was just an easy target for the US. They always attack the small, easy targets. The US thought Vietnam was a small, easy target until the Chinese and Russians provided weapons and training. The US or Israel would be foolish to attack Iran simply because there are so many strategic options available to Iran to respond. Iran does not have to attack Israel or the US in return immediately, just destroy the oil fields and processing facilities in the region. Also, most of the Middle East countries are ruled by Sunni minorities with Shia majority populations closely linked to Shia Iran, so that would be a nightmare. Plus Iran would spend years getting back at the US by civilian attacks.

@pounder2day The sunburn missile is only part of the problem for U.S carriers. It is the sizzler missile that is the bigger problem. The U.S has no defense against the sizzler. This missile has a 250 mile range and moves at 300 miles per hour. It can stay just 9 feet above any surface and it is the only missile in the would, that can dodge another missile and return on target. by the time a U.S carrier detects it's presence inbound, it's already to late for any plausible action.
