The thing is, I really like my regular Kindle. It's the small one without the keyboard, it's the most inexpensive, and it's perfect for me! I have trouble sleeping, and any electronic device with a backlight (computers, TVs, phones) have blue light which keeps me awake. The thing I like about mine is that there's no backlight and it looks like paper. Fire's quite cool, I just prefer mine :3

Both the Nook Tablet the the Fire look oggd, with good points on each one. But to be honest with you, I am a little scared that Barns and Noble might not be around in a few years to support the Nook. So, the FIre is looking good to me.

i love to read and my mom said i'm killing her with back and forth trips to the library and all the costs of buying the books. when we heard of the kindle it was just the first one back in june near my birthday and it only had the reading. she checks back in november and she says they have a kindle fire with all these apps. i immediantly feel in love with it and im currently waiting on it for Christmas as promised <3

Youtube is VERY good on it. Not choppy at all. Books are nice, It has 8 fonts in 8 different sizes. You can read in black on white, white on black, or dark brown on beige. It's a full android tablet. It's a nice size.

Just bought one for my 8 year old. Just put plenty of games, kiddie movies and book on it, and she's occupied for hours. This type of thing helps make learning fun for the kids. Not only that, she'll stop asking about my Galaxy Tab 10.1

I truly do not get it? Whats the point. Are people so lazy they can't walk from their couch to their laptop?? This thing is wifi only!! Unless you are at a hotspot area it's basically a really nice digital album paper weight. If this was at the very least 3g enabled I'd be the first in line, but to me it's absolutely retarded to buy a tablet that doesn't have internet 3g or 4g on the go.

@sparkspark Pearl Jam took time to load because he downloaded the entire song to the device from the cloud, rather than streaming it or playing a local copy. It's how you'd play a file from the cloud if you were planning to go out of wifi range.

nook color/table vs. kindle fire...they both do the same thing the only difference is mainly the setup and the nook has free instore help service..hard choose. basically depends if you like Amazon more or Barnes and Noble.
