It is unbelievable that stockholders of international corporations control these componys actions of destroying the envirement, getting rid of jobs and hurting countries finances just so these stockholders can make a quick buck.
The system in its intirety is failing. So how could anybody continue supporting politicians and political partys hoping to "free up" our markets.
p.s. sorry about the spelling mistakes I made I am used to writing in german
Freeing up the markets by keeping a transaction fee from being possible in europe is total BS especialy for a country with such a great financial deficit. There is no need to free up the markets but to limit the possibilities of investment banks who are gambling with our money with new laws. It is unbelievable that banks all around can gamble with our money take high risks, loose their money and be bailed out with countries help just to start over again.
Why do Canadians always seem annoyed if you ask if they are American?Lots of Canadians come to my City,Liverpool, but i can't differentiate the Canadian accent from most American accents! Can some Brother or Sister from Great Canada enlighten me on accents please?
@QUEENAHIDEKINGFISHER it's nothing major, think of it as different accents across England. I know people in Newcastle have different accents than people in London. People in Toronto will have different accents than people in Buffalo NY
@QUEENAHIDEKINGFISHER It is hard to differentiate our accents unless we're from newfoundland(irish sounding) and quebec(french province). But anywhere else in Canada I hate to agree, but we do have similar accents to the americans. However, Americans can differentiate us just fine. Just like different parts of your small country you will find that our accents change across the american continent.
West Coasters sound slightly different than the Prairie dwellers, who sound different from the Northern Ontarians (who sound slightly Minnesotan, for comparison), who sound different from the Southern Ontarians, who of course speak a different language than the French, who speak various dialogues and accentations /all/ across the provinces and territories); on the east coast are the Newfoundlanders and the Maritimers. Canada has lots of accents.
@LiamUe I know there are differences across canada but when it comes to distinguishing states closer to our boarders say, my southern ontario accent vs. a rochester NY accent, there are only slight differences I find. Or someone living in BC near the coast may sound not exactly but identical to a californian accent. My point is there isn't drastic differences in some cases.

The relationship between Britain and Canada has it's own particular identity. I am British and have always viewed Canadians with a sense of admiration and gratitude for their historical commitment to what is right. But if the future is to be more Canada orientated then a clearer sense of purpose is needed. The question remains: what do Canadians want their country to be?
@2whitsbury I would like to see this country become a true meritocracy for one. Sad to say, but at this time, to be a success in this country depends more on who you know rather than what you know. That's no way for a modern technological society to be.
Blair, Brown and this man, should be tried for treason, they have destroyed thousands of years of history, allowing mass numbers of immigrants to enter the UK, thus destroying the face of a once proud nation forever.
PLEASE VOTE e-petitions "No to 70 million" maybe our last say on the subject.
@idricool I'm not Canadian but I know Harper cannot dissolve parliament either only the Governor-General can do that or in Australia's case the Parliament is dissolved as per the effluxion of time provision in the Australian Constitution
I am happy that Canada does still like Britain. I feel ashamed that Britain has abandoned the commonwealth in the last 70 years for the EU. That is shameful. The Canadians should probably dislike us by now. But apparently not- that is heartening. Thank you Canada. Long live Canada!
@Rawrlor I suppose you're an anti-British pro-American troll. America despises Canada and the only country in the world that Canada has a special relationship with is Britain. Over here, we appreciate Canada. If you want to tell Britain to fuck off in favour of America, feel free. Just bear in mind that Americans despise you to an unhealthy extent.
The facts remain: Most Canadians don't vote so our federal representatives don't speak for the majority and most Canadians don't care about Britain so your faith in us is sadly misplaced. Suffice to say, you are entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts. I have nothing else to preach except that America is our closest trading partner and strongest friend.
@Rawrlor If I have family in Canada and I assure you that anti-British and pro-Yank cunts like you are few in number. It is true, the British are not wildly popular in Canada but they liked on a general level. Is this a power problem for you? When Britain was a hyper power Canadians like you were sucking up to her for her protection. Now you have switched to being America's best friend apparently. Well, Britain is the only country that truly loves Canada, America despises you almost passionately
I don't know your relatives in Canada but Canadians generally don't care about Britain. Yes, the British are liked in a general manner but since the natural Canadian tendency is to be polite and amicable, we tend to have similarly positive views of other peoples too. I have relatives in America as well as know Canadians that go to university there; Americans don't "despise" Canadians, at best they like us and at worst they don't have an opinion of us at all.
Though I'm OK with Britain, I don't want their Prime Minister and monarchy gallivanting across my country on a chariot, preaching to the church choir that consists of our federal representatives. If Canadians actually filled the chambers of our government, rather than the self-interested leeches we call MPs, Cameron would undoubtedly receive a frostier reception that he does here, if he receives one at all.
@Rawrlor This was a state visit from the Prime Minister... this happens in all countries. I bet you'd love to see Obama come over to Canada, though. Pro-American Canadians like you confuse me. It's like a Jew voting for Adolf Hitler.
@TheLiberalKnight Don't mind him, the "America is the best in the world" mentality isn't that common here in Canada. Sure, we respect the U.S. as a neighbour but the ties between the U.K. and Canada are old and still firm. The beauty about Canada is that we are multicultural and yet still hold strong to our traditions from Britain. The renaming of our military services to "Royal Canadian Air Force & Navy" is proof of how we treasure our history and roots. I say, Long Live Commonwealth Nations!
@Rawrlor Im sorry, but the world is bigger than just you and the USA. Being dick heads to other nations just because they don't provide any immediate benefit to you is a selfish way of looking at the world and will probably end up biting you in your isolationist backside.
@Rawrlor No worries, i'm sure you haven't read the news that the United States and the European Union is collapsing at a rapid rate, David Cameron came to canada not only to announce love for us and vise versa but to set up a trade union between Canada, Britain, Austrailia, Mexico, South Korea, Indoneasia and were all going to the G20 in November to tell the United States and the European Union to get their shit together or as Dave said " We will Forge Ahead".
The Creator said my “videos will cure the world” and that my “book is a good book” please see my pages for more details, I wish you all perfect happiness, Leyla Ergun
To speak some sense the left in both Britain and Canada know the truth, the radical program of cuts being implemented by the right endanger economic growth and the recession is being used as a smokescreen to minimize welfare and cut tax for the richest making them and their friends richer while hurting the rest of us and this carefully prepared piece of propaganda cant change that
Kinda makes you want to puff up your chest and walk tall doesn't it? What a great speech. It sure makes you feel proud if you think of what Canada has contributed to the world in the past 100 years.

i apologise; i did not mean to say that the accent areas i listed were distinct from the USA.
You're very right; the west coast style superceeds our border, for example.
