I'm looking to buy a 71 Chevelle SS and fix it up. I just need to get $6,000 saved up to get it. My uncle was a car guy who had many many cars like this years ago when I was a kid so I kinda grew up around them. I'm 19 now and plan to get my hands on my first one now and hopefully get it up to this status after I come home from active in the Air Force. @CDevlin101 and all that is with the 307 it came with. i COULD drop 3000 dollars on a ton of parts and do a complete engine build myself (fucking hard btw) on a 350 and run 457 horsepower at 6200 rpm, that's the cheapest option of that power. big block 454 is WAY more money, so is his paint job. do your research, save your money, find a project, and beg with your parents. make that dream come true, maybe without the 454 at first... cop magnet.

@CDevlin101 i remember when i was 14, i thought the greatest car ever made was the 67 corvette stingray, first year of the big block. i since then i have realized my foolish dreams and got a lucky find of a $1600 4 door 1972 chevelle, $2000 dollars in new parts later, plus junkyard parts with many days of rust restoration and restoring, with a nice cheap $1600 paint job and first car as well as my daily driver, don't expect this to happen to you, but set a more realistic goal.
