@electronicwiz1 ya i noticed that. POS. what i did was hit refresh and then before the error comes up hit pause and change it to 240 or if your fast enought change it immediately to 240 as soon as it starts to load
this is bull shit i have been abusing the hell out of a bunch of 400w and 250 w junk psu,s i have laying around by running a very worn out 500w motor on them with lots of old hdds plunged in at the same time all that happens is the psu gets hot then shuts down did this lots of times then moved on to the 250w pos that just went into overload and shut down the only thing that good quality psu,s may have thats better is cooling and better capacitor,s
Too many times have I seen people with generic PSU's saying ''OH LOOK MY GENERIC CHEAPO PSU IS 100 YEARS OLD AND IT POWERS MY RIG JUST FINE LOLOOLOL''. The truth is, if you're going to buy a 500w generic PSU when you have a rig that is only consuming something like 250w, then of course it's going to work, but I GARUANTEE, that if you load it up to its rated wattage, you'll see sparks.
this is overrated! i have a really cheap, crappy, 5 year old (it was cheao even back then!) generic 550w power supply pulling a gtx 460, dual core, 12 fans, 3 hard drives, and a load of other stuff with no problem all overclocked!
@neonzion7 Dual cores don't really consume that much power, so you're probably only pulling about 400w or so from that unit, load it up to 550W and see what happens, I dare you.
@GizorX ok i took the challenge to power up 2 of my friends rigs since 1 of their power supplies hasnt arrived... it powered a q9550 + gtx 260 just fine... on the other rig with a x4 965 and 5750 crossfire it had problems but when we unplugged all the fans and stress tested the whole system it ran fine...
@neonzion7 Visit some jonnyguru/hardocp/hardwaresecrets reviews if you want to see very accurate and in depth reviews, your testing method has so many variables it's not even funny.
wow i just bought a CHEAP 450w from ebay, i havent received it yet, but when it does arrive im actually havng second thoughts on whether i should use it or not :D
For anyone wondering, it is a raidmax 450W psu. I have this exact same one. I am completely surprised it could actually make it all the way to 335W. It is built by Sunpro, who also makes the majority of Athenatech power supplies.
Happened to me once too, however mine wasn't cheap. Well, not in terms cost from my retailer, but the internals of the PSU were downright cr*p, something I found out later. One day I turned on my rig and zzzap, my mainboard was toast and the PSU and gone and died completely. Got an RMA, and the damn RMA psu was DOA. Lawl. For the past coupla years I've stuck with Corsairs though, and never been disappointed.
lol this happened to me with a super cheap no name psu when playing halflife 2 bsod then pop fizz and smoke then black screen and this happened with a crappy old p3 and the psu was rated for 400 watts lmfao

Taking the cover off does not help much, dust and other things can get in and interfere.

What is the guarantee that 335W was applied thru the PSU? If more than 450W is applied, sure the power supply wont work!
