Well, it wouldn't work in real life because on a scale model, the entire thing is like the resistance of some otherworldly substance against a normal earthquake. You gotta make it out of something so that it isn't too fragile, but not too stiff either. Try Popsicle sticks with clay. In real life, if that was a real building, it will fall within a second.
