@flycentro123 For the record, Bob Crane.....Is the shit.....And!.....I'm preeettty sure worse things than what he did, have been done in the past and present, by the BIGGEST "Stars"........Things done by actors and actresses you would NEVER think, that person would do..
GEEZ! Sorry I had a typo in my comment, liarsclub75. And my comment was not rude in the least! It could have been much worse. Also, Hovis was one of the producer's of Liar's Club, at least for a while so it's not a huge leap to assume he might own a part of this fun show.
@zhlub4321 Harvey should have won the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of the corrupt, devious politician Hedy....er, Headley Lamarr in Blazing Saddles. And those two girl contestants were hot for him, not Crane, and so was the one with the moustache (though he did his best to hide it.)
I don't understand why the owner does not want this show seen. Isn't the owner Larry Hovis? If so I can't imagine why he's so embarrassed by this--he should be MUCH more ashamed of his so-called acting on "Hogan's Heros"!
@butchboy13 Seriously? Why would you think Larry owned this show? Makes no sense at all. Maybe you should check your so-called spelling before making rude comments about others.
Classic And Timeless!! "Liar's Club" should have been for six seasons -- from 1974-1975 until 1979-1980 -- on television. I saw the program when I was a young man on television. The last season should have made Lorimar obtain the right to airing the program in the 1979-1980 Television Season.
After 3 minutes this actually became engaging relative to the bios of the individual actors and their choices in this game. Contestant #4 looks like a 70s serial killer (Buono). I must confess I chose the wrong answer.
Since no one who writes books or makes movie or leaves comments about bob crane actually knew him, and all their doing is repeating what other ppl who don't know say, we should all stop pretending like we had any idea about his life and who he was except for rumors.
1976-77 this is from. USA ran this show from April 1986-June 1987. They only reran the Bill Armstrong hosted shows from the 1976-77 season. The second and third seasons(1977-79) were hosted by Allen Ludden. Larry Hovis did co-produce shows for Ralph Andrews, the original US run of Lingo and Yahtzee in 1987-88. Andrews and Co. had financial troubles resulting in contestants and hosts(MIchael Reagan for Lingo and Peter Marshall for Yahtzee) not being paid winnings or salary
bob crane only playing col.hogan was good for business. the reruns were more popular that way. crane had a piece of the show's profits. he did game shows to keep busy.
Bob Crane should have played Lt. Col. Henry Blake in Mash. The transition from Hogan's Heroes would have been a natural and his humor is similar to that of Alda and Mcclean Stevenson.
I remember this version of Liar's Club. It was one of the funniest game shows of the 70s and it's a show that should be brought back by a network such as Comedy Central.
When you look at him, it's hard to believe Bob Crane was one of the biggest horn-dogs in history. Evidently, Crane's exploits put Charlie Sheen to shame.
Oh, man! I used to watch this with my mom. I liked it a lot. Just when I got into it they yanked it. I often think about it to this day. Never EVER thought I'd see it again. Thanks for the post!
