The Ajax "Stronger than Dirt" tag line found its way into a Doors song, "Touch Me." I.I.N.M., Jim Morrison HATED that song and he used that phrase at the song's close to express his displeasure at his band's having to record the song.
@dnm72863 no it was because the other members let a car company use Light My Fire as the song for one of their commercials, and Jim did it to poke fun at the other members
I remember my Dad taking me to meet the Horse at his friends farm. Walt Stern as I remember. I thought nothing of sitting under the horses feet petting him. He was about 17hh which was a pretty big horse in those days.
I remember this commercial from when I was a kid. The guy on horseback had me puzzled, so that might be the reason I remember this commercial after all these years. I mean, c'mon. A guy on horse back with a lance and he points it at little kids while at full gallop. Wonder whatever happened to the horse?
The "White Knight" campaign began in the fall of 1964, with the introduction of "New" Ajax "with ultramarine-plus", and continued until the end of the decade. Bob Hope later satirized this ad in his 1967 feature film, "Eight On the Lam".
