Jim Malcolm is a performer of traditional Scots music and song with particular strong links to the ballads of Perthshire and Angus. In addition he is a fine exponent of guitar and harmonica playing. Rory Campbell will be most recognised through his contributions in another great Scottish Folk band - Deaf Shepherd
1999 saw Old Blind Dogs embracing the New Year with a new and evolved line up. lan Benzie retired January, 1999. Fraser Fifield also moved on The Old Blind Dogs continued on with the introduction of another great Scottish singer and songwriter Jim Malcolm and Rory Campbell (Deaf Shepherd) on small pipes and whistles.
In 1996 Fraser Fifield became the fifth member of the Old Blind Dogs, adding to the bands cutting edge sound with his tasty jazz licks on the sax and his superb playing of the small pipes. Their first album as a quintet - entitled Five, and released in 1997 - their five-album deal with KRL. Then in early 1997 Graham 'Mop' Youngson (ex - Wolfstone)Davy Cattanach joined with his funky, hard-hitting rhythm kit. The band was busy in 1998 touring in America, Germany, Spain, Denmark and the UK
Over the years Old Blind Dogs have evolved and grown into one of Scotland's favourite folk bands. The early days, the line-up consisted of: Jonny Hardie, Buzzby McMillan, and Ian Benzie, along with Dave Francis on percussion and Carmen Higgins on fiddle .1992 Dave Carmen left, Davy Cattanach joined the band (playing percussion), they toured as a four piece for several years. they recorded four great CDs with Scotland's record label KRL - New Tricks, Close to the Bone, Tall Tails and Legacy
nothing has change, sorry: same voices, same stuff as in so many 80's band ("battle field band")...no major change as inside irish music for instance (i'm thinking about Lunàsa) or breton music (Karma)..
I use "Only The Wisest Fool" in my "Meet The Awful Family" video. I eat this shit up with abandon..pardon me language mate and I may not have even done virtue to the Queen's English in accuracy of grammar. Just saying: 'THANKS!'
I see you live in Cornwall my lad. This is your cousin from across the pond in New Jersey, USA. I have never been to your beautiful country, but plan to get there someday soon. My great great grandfather and mther came to America in 1854 from Cornwall. He was a tin miner. That is how I got my Cornish Roots.
This came up on Pandora, and thank FECK for that! Lovely, wonderful, are there really words that could describe how fantastic this is?!

"Jean O' Bethelnie." It's also sometimes called "Glenlogie." Either of those titles with "Bonnie" before it are also used.
