Sounds incredible, but on the whole v8 vs v6, its really different than you think. My 2009 v6 mustang gets 14 mpg stock, while my friends '05 gt gets 12 with tune, cai, and exhaust. I'd agree for the most part about insurance, but my friend with the gt pays 170 per month, as do i. The gt is a little more expensive, but you can really push out some power from the v6s if you know what you're doing. Plus nothing like the "are-you-sure-there's-a-6-in-there" look from a gt if you smoke em with a v6.
all these people that talk bad about the V6 the V6 is lighter than the V8 and its about money Money talks , money can make a V6 wipe its ass with a V8 and all these people with V8s your gonna love that $8 gasoline
Easily the best sounding V6 Mustang exhaust. I have researched, listened, and installed several variations and this is by far the best set up for the Mustang. Congratulations. Its awesome sounding.
Nice! I traded this (the black 07 v6) in for a Kona Blue, Brembo package 5.0 a few months ago. The 5.0 sounds nice.. but I actually miss the sound that came out of this Ford Racing Kit. Still haven't found a good set of axlebacks for the 2011.
Nope.. gonna try and get one up this spring. Too much snow this winter.. and the car has "summer only tires". I'm sure a vid of my wrecking the 5.0 in the snow would get a lot of views.. but don't want to go there ;)
@therealmrsandman try the roush axle backs, they're pretty good, or if you dont like that 4v warble, look into BBK L/Ts, catted X pipe and magnaflow competition series cat-back, its loud, no drone, insane performance, or if you dont wanna blow around 1400bucks, the magnaflow competition cat-back and lethal performance offroad x-pipe, good look and sound on this 6 though

Haven't heard the GTBs in person.. but im sure there is not much difference. Gonna sound great either way. The GTBs tips are a little smaller I think. 3.5 inches compared to the GTA's 4 inch tips.
I turned the car in when I bought my 2011 5.0 ;) My v6 was louder than my current 5.0.. Not that the GT sounds bad (the sound from the engine is perfect).. but sort of miss the, believe it or not, rumble from that FRPP kit.

I just didnt want to wind up being disappointed with this kit when i found out that the kit i ordered had gtbs and not gtas cause i heard some sound clips with gtbs on h pipes but they were no where close to sounding as good as the gtas with x pipes u had in this video! Adam, there are many options to choose from, you can either buy it direct from Ford Racing, might be pretty pricey, through American Muscle, or on e-bay (that's where i found mine). I would suggest e-bay if you're trying to save a little money. But if you want truly excellent service, the guys at American Muscle are awesome!

No drone at all. That's why I went with this kit. i used to have a MAC setup and it nearly made me deaf ;) This is a 4.0 with a C&L cold air w/tune. The Ford Racing team did a good job with this kit. It is an x-pipe with the GTA mufflers.

Ford Racing kit for the v6. It's a Ford Racing cat-back X-Pipe with GTA mufflers. They no longer come with the GTA mufflers (shelby).. the kit comes with the GTB (bullitt) mufflers.

I love the sound of a six banger, everyone goes with the v8 how its sound amazing, and it does but the v6 is a much undervalued sound.And yeah, camaros etc were muslce cars but the worlds moved on by 40 years and so has economy, value, budgets etc you cant compare the old to the new.

A notch was cut out of the bumper. The Ford Racing kit comes with a black aluminum cover for the edge of the cutout.. so it looks very clean when it's installed.

I am not sure you can get the kit with the GTA (Shelby) mufflers. I think they now sell the kit with the GTB (Bullitt) mufflers. The GTAs have 4 inch tips.. the GTBs have 3.5 inch tips... and they probably sound very similar.
You can probably get away with a cheaper x-pipe and buy the mufflers separately.

Nope. The kit comes with instructions on how to cut the notch in the bumper.. and has black aluminum covers for the exhaust cutouts. Looks factory after it's all done.
I to have these on a 2006 V6, I love the sound, this is the best kit available for the mustang,I changed the mufflers and put high flowwing Cherry Bomb's on there and it sounds amazing, kida get's pricey but worth every penny in the way is sounds...

Also.. most open exhaust systems will pop when the engine is cold. Let her warm up a bit.. and you will not get popping. The first part of this vid was edited out because I did not let it warm up and it popped.. that.. and I set off my neighbor's car alarm ;)
I got this kit over the weekend and installed it. Did you get any popping in the beginning? Mine pops a lot when I accelerate the engine. Pops like a popcorn machine.
i ordered mine today :P ... i phail at life tho because i entered my credit card number wrong i got so antsy, so of course i was denied... o well it wont ship til tomorrow now haha.
One other thing I forgot to ask... Is there any drone? If any, how bad is it? I have a flowmaster exhaust and the drone is pretty bad between 2500 and 3000 rpm.
RMC37830, you need to have a template (just copy the other side) and measure to where it goes on the left side, cut it out and smooth it with some sandpaper. The FRPP kit actually comes with some cutout covers (little black plastic covers) that fit where you made your cuts for the tips.
You could alternatively just let a shop do it all for you.
I just put this same setup on my car today. It sounds good on here and sounds even better in person. One of the best V6 Exhaust systems i've heard personally.
I have a tune from brenspeed and a c&l cai. The cai probably contributes a little to the sound... but I think Ford just did a good job with the xpipe/GTA combo.
I also have steeda sport springs, and a ford racing t-lok with 3.73 gears.
Not the fastest car in the world.. but it's hella fun to drive!
I agree its a hella fun to drive, i own also a V6. Try the underdrive pulley, it makes a different sound but from the engine, i have it installed on my car i now what im talking about. Tomorrow in driving to the 1/4 in Crofton, MD.

Yes. Cats are there. It's the Ford Racing kit for this car. Cat-back X-Pipe and GTA mufflers.
I also had a CAI and tune.. that's it.
They do not sell this kit with the GTA mufflers (from the Shelby).. instead, they sell it with the GTB mufflers (from the bullitt).

Ford Racing kit for the v6. It's a Ford Racing cat-back X-Pipe with GTA mufflers. They no longer come with the GTA mufflers (shelby).. the kit comes with the GTB (bullitt) mufflers.

I need yall's opinion i have an 04 mustang with the 40 year package mach audio system and a few other details. I am wanting to put dual exhaust on it. The thing is that it is a 3.6 L V6 that is automatic. Can yall help me and tell me would it be worth putting exhaust on it.

I believe the FRPP kit for V6's have the same equipment for the mufflers as the 08' Bullits. Puts that stuff to good use haha.

It does now. When I bought the kit, it came with the GTA mufflers that come on the Shelby GT.

I love the sound of a six banger, everyone goes with the v8 how its sound amazing, and it does but the v6 is a much undervalued sound.And yeah, camaros etc were muslce cars but the worlds moved on by 40 years and so has economy, value, budgets etc you cant compare the old to the new.

I would too.. but I need my car to start up in the morning so I can get to work. Mustangs, by the way... were originally marketed to be stylish.. including the inside. The original Mustang was positioned in the market to compete with "classy" European cars.

...I kind of say they are ugly cars.. But then I am a 21 century type of guy ya know? Its preference man. But luxury doesn't make a car a toy...It separates it from old technology. Its human nature to evolve...so ofcourse the cars do too. Its bettering them, in safety, useablilty, drivabilty.. I mean its what we are all about.

A notch was cut out of the bumper. The Ford Racing kit comes with a black aluminum cover for the edge of the cutout.. so it looks very clean when it's installed.

I noticed MANY people have asked where you bought these pipes from...You did not answer one person. Can you just post a link...or anything? I would really like it if my V6 could sound this good.

I am not sure you can get the kit with the GTA (Shelby) mufflers. I think they now sell the kit with the GTB (Bullitt) mufflers. The GTAs have 4 inch tips.. the GTBs have 3.5 inch tips... and they probably sound very similar.
You can probably get away with a cheaper x-pipe and buy the mufflers separately.

okay i have a question. the kit sounds really nice on the v6 mustang. does this kit sound pretty loud or what. i've heard it's not that loud at all. but i like the sound of it. i have true dual flowmasters and its loud but theres to much drone in my car when i'm driving on the freeway. maybe you can give me your number and i can call you so i can hear it over the phone. that's up to you. well thanks alot and good video

That depends on your definition of loud. In my opinion, it is quiet on the inside (with windows closed), but decently loud outside the car.
lets put it this way.. I can set off car alarms in parking garages.. and my family knows when I am backing into the garage.

Nope. The kit comes with instructions on how to cut the notch in the bumper.. and has black aluminum covers for the exhaust cutouts. Looks factory after it's all done.

go to a TINT shop, like they tint windows!
tell the tint shop to cut you a piece of 15% tint, is what ive seen most ppl use.
they might not want to do it, because its such a small piece, but try smaller tint shops.

I to have these on a 2006 V6, I love the sound, this is the best kit available for the mustang,I changed the mufflers and put high flowwing Cherry Bomb's on there and it sounds amazing, kida get's pricey but worth every penny in the way is sounds...

Also.. most open exhaust systems will pop when the engine is cold. Let her warm up a bit.. and you will not get popping. The first part of this vid was edited out because I did not let it warm up and it popped.. that.. and I set off my neighbor's car alarm ;)

I got this kit over the weekend and installed it. Did you get any popping in the beginning? Mine pops a lot when I accelerate the engine. Pops like a popcorn machine.

It is the fascia cut-outs that come with the kit, little black cutouts that look pretty good, without spending 200$ for a GT rear bumper.

One other thing I forgot to ask... Is there any drone? If any, how bad is it? I have a flowmaster exhaust and the drone is pretty bad between 2500 and 3000 rpm.

RMC37830, you need to have a template (just copy the other side) and measure to where it goes on the left side, cut it out and smooth it with some sandpaper. The FRPP kit actually comes with some cutout covers (little black plastic covers) that fit where you made your cuts for the tips.
You could alternatively just let a shop do it all for you.

Yep... it's pretty easy. The FRPP set comes with a template. Also, the cutout covers are black and made from aluminum.. so they are pretty sturdy.

I have a tune from brenspeed and a c&l cai. The cai probably contributes a little to the sound... but I think Ford just did a good job with the xpipe/GTA combo.
I also have steeda sport springs, and a ford racing t-lok with 3.73 gears.
Not the fastest car in the world.. but it's hella fun to drive!
